Mouse
The mouse felt very comfortable and solid. I actually preferred the feel to my Logitech G5 mouse. If you're right handed the left side button is in perfect reach. Good news for you lefties, the design is also ambidextrous.
The scroll wheel is very smooth. Initially, it felt a little odd since most others, including myself, are used to scroll wheels that have the click/resistance feeling. There is no click or resistance at all with the scroll wheel. It just glides effortlessly. It's great for web surfing with the accelerated scrolling option enabled, however, it doesn't work as well with gaming. You're likely to scroll past the weapon you need. The tilt scrolling is a nice feature, but seems pretty useless. I have yet to find a situation where I needed to scroll horizontally. The good news is it can be remapped. The mouse uses Microsoft's Laser Technology. I really couldn't feel a discernable difference with laser or optical technology. The tracking was accurate and smooth. There were no noticeable lag issues. While the keyboard uses 4 standard AA batteries, the mouse uses 1 AA NiMH rechargeable battery. If power is running low, just pop it onto the charging cradle and you're good to go. As with most battery operated products, there are indicators on the keyboard and mouse that will let you know if the juice is running low. Installation and Software Installation is what you would expect. Windows detected the devices right away. However, to get the advanced features and customization you should install their IntelliPoint and IntelliType software. Instead of using the included installation disk, it would be wise to download the software from Microsoft's website. This ensures you are getting the latest version.
