Application Performance of the 4000+

Techwarelabs ran the 4000+ through a variety of tests to show real as well as synthetic test performance.

Adobe Photoshop 7
ID Games Quake 3
SiSoft Sandra
3DMark 01SE
3DMark 03 (340)
3DMark 05

Test Setup:
AMD 4000+
1GB Corsair XL PC3200
Windows XP SP2
Geforce 6800GT OC
MSI K8N Neo 2 Platinum

Applications were chosen to demonstrate performance in commonly used applications and 3D games. Results were as follows:

1. Microsoft Office Access 2003- Opening a 100MB Database.

Intel Pentium 4 3.6 Ghz	5 seconds
AMD Athlon 64 4000+, 2.4 Ghz	4.2 seconds

2. Microsoft Office Word 2003- Opening a 10MB Word Document

CPU	Time
Intel Pentium 4 3.6 Ghz	2 seconds
AMD Athlon 64 4000+, 2.4 Ghz	1 seconds

3. Microsoft Office Power Point 2003- Opening a 10 MB Power Point Presentation

CPU	Time
Intel Pentium 4 3.6 Ghz	4.5 seconds
AMD Athlon 64 4000+, 2.4 Ghz	4 seconds

4. Adobe Photoshop 7- Opening a 10MB JPEG

CPU	Time
Intel Pentium 4 3.6 Ghz	5.2 seconds
AMD Athlon 64 4000+, 2.4 Ghz	4 seconds

In all of the applications the AMD 4000+ was faster than the Intel CPU running 1.2Ghz faster. TWL will bring you results from a 3.8 and P4 clocked at 4Ghz when we obtain that CPU.
