SuperTalent PicoDrive Gold

Features
Now that we're done ogling the exterior, let's take a look at what this drive has to offer under the hood, according to SuperTalent:
| Feature |
Interpretation |
| Weight less than 6g |
Light, as you'd expect from a drive of this size. |
| Up to 30MB/s (200X) data transfer rate |
Impressive speed, if true, testing will prove or disprove this. |
| Fully compatible with USB 2.0 and 1.1 |
Backwards compatibility is always a plus. |
| Water resistant |
Useful if your drive accidentally goes through the wash or drops into your drink. |
| Powered by USB bus - no external power is required |
Par for the course. Though where you'd plug in an external power supply on a drive this size is an interesting question... |
| Durable solid-state storage - 10 years data retention |
A nice feature, though the limited number of writes allowed on flash memory will render the drive useless long before this becomes an issue. |
| Hot Plug & Play – enable you to install and uninstall Pico anytime |
Again, par for the course. |
| Capless; rugged |
No cap or case to lose, good for the forgetful sort. |
Testing
For evaluating the performance of this drive, we ran the Pico-C Gold through a number of benchmarks designed to simulate real-world use.
First up, SiSoftware's SANDRA:
As you can see, performance was somewhat lackluster on small files when compared to the reference drives. With files 2MB and larger, however, the Pico's performance was much improved.
