ATP EarthDrive 4GB Flash Drive

ATP

Packaging:

The ATP Earthdrive came packaged in the expected plastic wrapper. It was very bright and intriguing though. It explains the basics of the EarthDrive, and protects it quite well. Also notice that the cardboard insert is printed on recycled material. The latest packaging is made completely from recycled paper, but isn't available in the US.

A Closer Look:

After opening the packaging, we see that the contents are quite simple: The EarthDrive and a lanyard. The front face of the flash drive is very nice looking, but the paint on the front seems to be fragile. After use for a week, it's worn off quite a bit.

On the back of the drive, we have our slide to open the drive. It works very easily, and is very lightweight. The lanyard isn't too strong, but it's very easy to put on a keychain using the loop at the top.

ATP's System In Packaging (SIP):

Instead of having a bunch of components crammed onto a PCB board (exposing them to weather, dust, etc.), ATP integrates it all into one encapsulated chip, which protects all of the components. This protection is put into play in some of their tougher drives, particularly their ToughDrive. We've never seen anything as strong as the ToughDrive, and it handled everything from being set on fire, to run over, and even Torched.
