Conclusion

This drive is fast. Very fast. It does everything you would want it to, and more. However, 48x writers are already out there, so if you only want to write at incredibly fast speeds, it probably is not worth the money to spend for rewriting capabilities that will not be used. The drive is good at bypassing copy protection and it has excellent media compatibility. It reads very well, including scratched media. As a recorder, it blazes with write times of slightly over two and a half minutes as one of the fastest drives available. As a rewriter, it blows all the other drives away. When this hits the online stores, it will in all likelihood be found for sub-100 dollar prices on Pricewatch. Lite-On is notorious for affordable drives. This really is the definitive CD-RW.
