A Closer Look

One of the great things about this card is it's size. Unlike the ATI Radeon 4870, the ATI Radeon HD 4850 is a single socket card. This means you don't have to sacrifice a PCI slot just to use your new graphics card. This also means a smaller heat sink which means a smaller fan less noise and less heat. While you will get better performance out of the 4870, if you really need the PCI slot (or more importantly don't have the cash), you can opt for the ATI Radeon HD 4850 and still be very satisfied.
