With the marketplace seemingly flooded with smart phones, tablet devices, hybrid laptops, netbooks, and ultra light weight laptops it can be difficult to keep current with the latest hardware powering all these dynamic devices. TechwareLabs had the pleasure of interviewing Jim Nucci, Intel’s Brand Manager for mobility products, to gain a deeper insight into the latest processor technologies powering this wave of mobile products. The latest addition to the Atom Family of processors is Oak Trail. This latest processor enables a heightened multimedia experience,  companion computing  on the next level, and a  power efficient design to enable all day use. The low-power Z670 processor with integrated graphics (Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 600) built into the CPU is powerful enough to smoothly play 1080p video and streaming with low power consumption.  The low-power 3 watt design of the processor enables manufacturers to product thinner, lighter, and fanless systems allowing more compact and portable tablet devices.  The SM35 Express Chipset combined with the Z670 Oaktrail CPU features SATA high-speed storage, up to 4 USB 2.0 ports, HD Audio, and HDMI 1.3a up to 1080p output.
