The box for the Frio Extreme is pretty standard with a picture of the cooler on the front, some specs on the back, and a nice little list of features on the side. On the front of the box we see the Frio Extreme’s tagline, “Breaking the limit”. Perhaps “breaking” isn’t exactly the best word to associate with the second heaviest cooler on the market (behind the Noctua NH-D14).

The Frio Extreme is your standard heatpipe and fin tower cooler that has dominated the air cooler market for a while now.

The included fans are 140mm beasts capable of pushing a claimed 106 CFM while keeping RPM and noise to a minimum. With the two fans installed, this cooler is absolutely huge with dimensions of 148.2(L) x 151(W) x 160(H) mm. It would be very wise to measure clearances if you are interested in this cooler.

Included with the cooler itself is a small fan controller and all of the necessary mounting hardware. The fan controller works by simply plugging the two fans in the top and connecting the controller to the CPU fan port on your motherboard. You can choose between manual or PWM control.
