Tt eSPORTS Cronos Gaming Headset Review

My Experience and Conclusion:

I tested this headset using my Samsung Galaxy S3 first to see how well it performs as a mobile headset. Taking calls was a piece of cake, with pretty solid output of whomever was speaking to me. The other side heard me great with crisp and clear voice.

Then I took the headset for a run on my PC to see its full gaming potential. The USB powers the illumination on the left and right ear pads which light up the dragon logos and a circle around them, also the tip of the microphone is lit up.

The LED’s add on to the already very appealing design in my eyes, (I prefer red on black over any other combos).

The ear-cup size was considerably large for everyone that tried them on, but since I have big Dumbo-sized ears it was rather uncomfortable for me to wear for longer than 30 minutes forcing me to stop using them all together since it was jamming my ear tips to my skull.

Other than the visual appeal, I was very happy with the size of the headset after I was able to fold in the two ears into the headband making the headset practically small and flat, to be put away.

So now we are on the performance of use on my PC, this is where Cronos outshines my regular Logitech headset. The sound was astonishing, with the highs being crisp and clear and lows being good enough for even the heaviest of soundtracks. I tested the music in Bastion, Crysis 2, 3, and the EoS series, including the online version.

To finish up I’d like to add that the only negative part of the whole headset is the fact that it is still not big enough for me, haha. Other than that this is probably one of the only headsets I have been able to test that gives out as much performance and has as much potential as a 200$ headset, while costing only 60$. You can buy this headset at either NewEgg for 63$ (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA24G15V4972) or

Amazon for 59.99$ (http://www.amazon.com/eSPORTS-Cronos-Gaming-Headset-HT-CRO008ECBL/dp/B00E38BPJ0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1388821812&sr=8-1&keywords=cronos+headset)

Summary:

The Cronos works well across the platforms it claims to support and its 60$ price is amazing for the quality of performance it dishes out.

The ability to fold it in for transportation is an added bonus to those looking to take it to LAN parties.

Good Job Thermaltake on another great product!
