For the past couple of years, AMD has been chomping at Intel's heels trying to bust into the corporate market. Despite their chip's superior performance, it lacked the ability to operate in a multiprocessor configuration. For the average user, the demand for such a power house system is one of luxury and/or bragging rights, but for the corporate market it is one of necessity. The ability to process multiple threads simultaneously increases productivity in "grown-up" applications. In other words, AMD is aiming their Athlon MPT line at the developer market and not at gamers. To that end we took on this, our first dual processor review, with a different approach.
