You need to be allot more specific than that if you want a resolution.

Describe the boot sequence and explain all that is happening step by step, when you get the error message etc.

The more info you can provide the better. Saves allot of guess work and we can get you up and going in much less steps.

Kinda like asking a mechanic to fix your car saying it makes a noise please fix it. Need more input . . .

If you're not sure what is causing this, you can narrow down the suspects by using a startup control software. I use Startup Cop becuase it is small and easy to use. I can find a link to the download if you want, but be careful not to disable anything which is critical to load the OS.

hmm... yeah you do need to be more specific on what the problem is, but if i had to guess i'd say that one of your programs that run on startup is missing a file or it cant find the exe for your program.

i'd say try disableing the start-up programs and then slowly re-enable them and see if you cant spot which one is the problem.

if that doesnt work try repairing windows, or run scandisk and see if it can pick up anything. goodluck

FDISK, Partition, Format and Re-install the OS and the error message should go away  ;D

Just kidding don't do it

Guys couldn't wait for the juicy details huh? More than likely it's a simple solution find out the exact error message before jumpin in with solutions.

Guess about repairing the Ozone layer but not tech issues  :P

Hey coffejor that sounds good can i have that link.  And for everyone else there really isnt any steps.  It isnt in my boot sequence.  After my computer has completely powered-up and is ready on my desktop, a simple window shows up, one you can close.  So all i do is say ok to it (since it is my only option) and it goes away.  It says in a box window "Cannot find file.  May be corrupt.... and something about trying again." I know i am not providing much detail, sorry bout that.  Oh well, ill just have to deal with it.Oh yeah and the problem is with Win 98.

In that box that pops up it doens't tell you what file it's looking for? There should be a find button or browse button, if you click that does it show the file that it's looking for?

There's nothing like that in the box.  That is why it is driving me crazy.  I have ran Maintanence Wizard and Scan Disk, but nothing is showning that there is a fault in my computer.  I think that i am just going to give up because i am just not capable of providing the information needed to tell you guys so you could possibly help me.  If you want to, you can still try to help.  Id apprieciate it alot!  Thanks guys.
