Default CD-ROM LED Mod Guide

"Want to add that little bit of extra coolness to your modded case? Why not replace that dull LED in the front of your CD-ROM with an ultra-bright LED and make your friends stare in awe when you spin a CD. Ultra-bright LED's are the latest craze in the computer mod world and can spice up any case or component that might use them."

yeah i was going to ask that

also where can you get LED lights that have 2 colours in one bulb?

the samsung ODDs have just one LED light which can create red and green as it seems

ive taken the faceplate off and studied it
but i could only find one bulb inside the black plastic casing...

this makes it hard for me to choose what to use for the mod

basically it works the same as a regular LED but when you reverse the polarity on the legs of a 2 pole LED or use the third leg of a 3 pole LED the current lows the opposite direction producing a different light color

are you sure by reversing the polarity will change the colour?
i thought it simply just wont work if u get the opposite polarity

but nevertheless, thank you so much for showing me the site
and please provide us with the direct link when the server is up

thank you again

Yep, I meant bipolar LED's only. If you reverse polarity on a normal LED it won't work.

Also here ya go for the ultra bright blue

https://www.jameco.com/cgi-bin/ncomm...s=503;522;711;

and this one is a red / green bipolar that is 5mm

https://www.jameco.com/cgi-bin/ncomm...s=503;522;711;

I had noticed the one you were looking at was 3mm in size.
