Digi-Times reports that LG has made the worlds largest TFT LCD monitor!

LG.Philips LCD on October 7 unveiled a 42-inch LCD monitor panel, the world’s largest TFT LCD, featuring wide XGA resolution, 500cd/m2 (nit) brightness, a 175-degree viewing angle, 12ms response time, 500:1 contrast ratio and a thickness of only 50.9mm.

42 is bigger than the TV in my family...

but then i wonder how the refresh rate on this 42 is
and the brightness...

might as well save more money for a plasma screen

Plasma is pitiful in performance. I'd rather put money I'd save up towards an OLED when it comes out. Then you have this paper thin screen that you don't even see until you turn it on. At that, you are even saving power! Now that I think about it, one could probably make a case that it is their duty to the environment to conserve energy and use an OLED!!!

I'm talking about OLED's. They are Organic LED's. These things are potentially sharper than any LCD can be, the thickness of an OLED is almost as thin as paper, and they use over 30% less power than an LCD. OLED's are very durable because they can be bent and lightly stabbed and have no damage made to them; they are virtually indestructable by normal wear and tear. It is very promising technology.

hey could u give me some stuff to read about it?
i need to know new technologies so i can catch up with the frontier...

but isnt OLED VERY VERY VERY expensive compared to LCD?
