this is in the FAQ section of the blizzard site

Are there any plans to port a Linux version?
We have no plans for versions on other operating systems.

you can however, get windows emulators
and run the game from there
it will be considerably slow however
and there is no 100% garantee of compatibility

lol
linux is just as multimedia capable as windows
no offence but i think you need to do alot more research before getting linux installed
one good way to start is www.thescreensavers.com with their linux guides for noobs and explains the basics of linux

ditto.. you need to do some research on what linux actually is
there are a few windows 'emulators' (in speech marks for a reason!)
WINE = Wine Is NOT an Emulator - the main "emulator" for getting games to run in linux, open source
CrossOver (stuff, can't remember what the actual product name is) - this is commercial, but do contribute some code to WINE, it mainly does stuff like office, but ive heard of stuff like sims being used with it...
VMWare - lets you install a windows onto your linux partition and run it in a window, not sure how it does with games..
atm linux for me is just for server, i like my XP desktop for now, and i'm too lazy/busy to try and get games working
until wine becomes much easier to use (i attempted it once with mdk, couldn't figure it out) so its down to n00b level windows is going to stick as the desktop choice for the masses due to games... i know some games like UT2k3 have linux versions.. but IMHO its linux's ONLY weakness against windows on the desktop

I've tried mandrake one's and yes it runs almost but not all windows apps, Mandrake and windows based games don't mix. Its like Oil with water, they don't mix, but there's a way adding detergent.
Forget Linux if ur a gamer....Curiosity kills so try linux.

I'm trying Mandrake 9.0 on my server computer right now. Games are not going to be the best thing to do with linux, but if you want to experiment with the 1337 app 'xeyes,' linux is the way to go :P. J/K, but anyway...KDE (is the GUI I use in Mandrake) looks pretty nifty. If you want some screenshots I can provide them (assuming I can figure out how to take screenshots in linux). If you've not used linux before, don't get your hopes up too high of being able to do lots of cool stuff right away (or anything, for that matter).
