Default Vantec V4A-C7040 doesnt fit, should i mod or take fan off?

well the heatsink doesnt fit because it is basicaly a 70mmx70mm heatsink and my mobo has resistors standing in the way...

i could mod it but it would be quite hard since i dont have any tools and have to borrow and get time to do it

or i can take the special TMD fan off it
and try and put it onto my Globalwin CAK-38

the CAK-38 is 60x60
but the TMD is 70x70 so screwing it in isnt an option

i bought the V4A-7040 is because it is very efficient and quiet
i was planning to use it to replace this CAK-38 which has a loud and crazy delta fan...

so...
should i take the TMD fan off it and install it onto CAK-38's copper heatsink?
how should i do it?
use wires and tie it down?

well couple of days

my friend suggested me to take the HS and go to school with it...
not to teach it physics
but take it to the metal work class

and let someone cut a corner off it!
hehehe

sounds interesting
