Tape player audio out -> computer audio in -> wave/mp3 recorder. If wave recorder, then convert wave to mp3. Unfortunietly the sound quailty will decrease over this process

I have tried this before and the sound quality is not so good.  If they are just old tapes from artists I would just look for the songs on the net, but if it is something that you really need go for it!

I know that someone makes a program that is suppose to make old tapes and records sound better once you have the data on your computer.

Check Download.com

Good Luck!

Music Match Jukebox does Line in to MP3 conversion and is free.  Haven't done it yet but plan on it when I get the chance.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Will give it a go and let you know the grewling details of success or failure.

Have to get the data off the tapes as I run old radio talk show broadcasts, and a 50's broadcast.

All the material is donated, and well most times it comes on tape. Guess I have to figure this one out huh?

Thanks again!
