Okay, I read through all 10 posts and I got one question...at what ponit do you live up to your name "smartkid"...maybe the whole problems started with, "I laughed at the IT guys dumbness"...the minute you think you are the smartest guy around, is the minute you probably aren't...the really smart ones always count of the other guy being up to the task... :)

What's so wrong about checking email? In my school, the webmasters and school board are cool. Recently, they decided to 'unblock' most sites. That means we can do ANYTHING on the internet, except porn. We can go on AIM, check email, go on game sites, and go to sparknotes if you didnt do your homework. ;)

First of all if you know me on msn im "Smartkid - getting smarter", and in my sig it says that but I have just been to lazy to upload it here, i will do so now.

2nd of all I intent to be a IT Proffessional and I personially
1. need to know this for the day I have to defend it.
2 wouldent be a jankass and block simple email.

3rd For the typicle 14 year old I am smart. (at least with computers)

4th I KNOW im not the smartest guy around, you shouldent assume I think that. (real smart people dont jump to conclusions )

5th and finially, yes I did lauth and the IT guy, and am still lauthing and that isent aginst any rules neither so I will keep lauthing as long as I please (even knowing that one day i might be the IT guy being lauthed at)

I dont do anything for schools or a school IT guy anymore.

At my last school the IT guy there had came into my class to work on some computers that wearn working. I told him about me, my web site and we talked. He seemed nice and all and he told me I should learn linux, wich i had already had interest in.

But at the time I had dail up and face it there was no possible way to download a full cd worth of stuff. So he promised to put a linux CD in my teachers box for me.

So I waited, and waited and two weeks later I assumed he had forgotten (I knew he was a busy man) so i sent him an email just asking a few questions about linux and asking if he had toime to burn the disk.

The reply offended me beyond words, in my signature on my gmail account it is ( S | m | a | r | t | K | i | d ) woch at the time i used as my sig for alot of forums. Well he had to be a smartass and in his reply change it to ( D | u | m | b | K | i | d ). And I was personially pissed. End of story he never sent the disk wich no longer mattered to me and I lost every bit of respect for him.

But that wasent enuth, a school club had asked me to make them a site and forum, and I had worked hard to make them a forum and site. But soon found out that it was blocked (it dident matter to me, i could use proxys but it did matter for the rest of the school) so I once again sent him an email. And waited, and waited, and waited one of my others bad things is that im extremely impationt. So finially he replyed. I dont know what had happened but the way i was told they had gotten together and evedentily got with the schools lawer and decided it was at risk of a law sute, even though menny school admins had already been picked for it. Without notice they had canned the site and forum.

Wich I put two and two together and came to the conclusen this is what they meant to say: "We dont like having a 14 year old student an admin, so were just gunna dump this and tell the brat its at law risk."

Now I dont know if that really happened or not but I refuse to work on any more school websites, forums anything, and as far as my schools IT guy he can shove it.

Now what I plan to do is at my fathers engineering job there are three IT guys, I plan to go there with him partly durring the summer and see if they cant teach me something.

Now you can say whatever you want about smartkid, its just a name if you dont like it I dont care but dont imply that I am not smart, becuse your wrong. Now im tired of typing my life story thats really none of your businuss. Unless you know a way to fix my new schools blocker dont bother replying.

I would probably send something like that back to you to if you sent me emails sounding like your post. I can't believe you would put your alias sig like that on an email to your instructor. I can see how you'd use your alias on a forum or something, mine is retroreferencing a gaming scene that you probably are not aware of.

If you want to be treated like a mature intellectual you could take responses like ours and your teachers' constructively. Maybe consider how condescending you sound. You're also sending a mixed message when you can't communicate effectively.

Honestly someone at 14 who claims to be an administrator is kidding themselves. Unless you've had years of experience [~4 years] I don't think any institution would pay for you to be an admin.

I'm not attacking you with this either. From the perspective of me, who doesn't know you, you should be able to support your presumptuous condescending name, or take our comments in stride as you know your own level of intelligence.

You seem to be insecure with a name like that, and it shows when you get emotionally bothered when people don't see it that way. You're just asking for a fight though, and it's with the worst kind of people, other obstinently smart people. Either that or dumb people who are jealous.

You don't have to advertise your intelligence. If you are it will show through.

As for getting linux on dialup. You can get a copy mailed to you from linuxiso.com or something. I suggest you don't waste your time with linux because you will most likely be preoccupied with the functionality of a pretty desktop system, rather than learning from the ground up what unix is all about.

check out a true unix variant that isn't all packaged for the pansies. just my 2c.

When did I say i was an admin? The only place im admin is on forums (as in not here, my forum, and some other forums)

Ok, im guessing your not a kid, im guessing you work for some place like an admin or IT guy. (Guesses can be wrong)

How menny people that you know thats are 14 can use photo shop? Probably alot.

How menny people do you know that fully understands HTML that are 14? Maby a good bit (html is not hard).

How menny 14 year old do you know that understand CSS, PHP and Java script enuth to use it?
Still might be a good amount of people.

How menny 14year olds can make 3D modles?
how menny can run and manage a sucsessful forum?
How menny know how to run a windows based server?
How menny even know how to use linux?
How menny know some C++, and some C#?

Now how menny 14 year olds can do that, all that? If you know someone that can tell them they have earned the right to have "smart" in there username. (and yes i can do all that)

This is the 2nd time in 2 years someone has started a fight about my name. I am a member of countless forums, and no one but you and evedentily my old IT buddy have had something negitive to say. Yes this is true, I was very imature a long while ago when i first joined here, alot has happened, I have changed. When I decided to come back I dident want to be the inmature little brat anymore, and was doing a good job till you had to throw in your two cents.

Yes I knew, and still know about getting a linux distro disk through mail. This doesent matter i have DSL now, and have already played with the "pretty desktop" it was fun :P
