Agreed... netgear is garbage... they won't update their firmware, and when they do, it doesn't fix it!

i use netgear and think it is great. i have had no problems at all and the range on it is brilliant.

I'll add one more vote to the reliability of the Linksys, of all the people who own one, I have never heard enough bad things about it to shove it aside.

I own both a netgear and a linksys, and even though the netgear works as my access router, currently, I still prefer the linksys head and shoulders. It is just a more solid piece of equipment with more solid software.

solid = good!

Does that make netgear liquid?

ninikins 06-04-2006 06:23 PM

I'm cool with netgear, fortunately its never caused any trouble at all for me but maybe I'm just lucky.

Jason425 06-04-2006 07:14 PM

consider yourself very lucky

I know I'm just repeating what's already said, but, Linksys is the best option, hands down. They make everything on their equipment well, right down to the power cord; the plug extends from the transformer so it doesn't take up 2 or 3 outlets. That's of course excluding Cisco, but Ciscos are very expensive and can be a pain to configure since they're so almighty powerful.
