Re: Cold Cathode Review!

I think it is an excellent review. ;D  In regarding the picture of the dude in the blue room and the baseball hat, try smiling, picking your nose, SOMETHING, when your in a pic that will be published.  I don't think you're ugly, you just look stoned. ;D  Smoked 1 and Brandin look like they can kick my butt, so I won't say anything about them. ;D  (Except I'm jealous of your workshop)

Re: Cold Cathode Review!

how much power does it use and is it too bright to put in a window?

i always imagined you as adults or somethin, probably cuz all the people my age in this, excuse me for this, hick state of arizona, only like usin computers. it scares me. and so all of the people i know who like comps are adults. nice workshop. i got room, and plenty of it, for a workshop, but nuttin to put in it. so i am jealous too.

Re: Cold Cathode Review!

I am not the one who wrote the review but I think it takes 12volts. Plus I have one in my case as well from the same guy. It looks great and there is not to much light. I would have to say that there is no such thing as to much light. I am 24 years old so I am an adult. Sheesh don't I feel good. Who know maybe 24 is still a kid in your eyes. i dunno. If you have room for a workshop you should put one together. They work great.

Re: Cold Cathode Review!

about the power, yeah you are right about the 12 volts since it says it in the review, but how many watts (and that is somethin i was thinkin you should put in the review)? and in my eyes 24 is on the border of being an adult - get all the priveleges (which i wish i had) but still know how to have fun! about the workshop - i got no money to put stuff to make it a workshop  :'(

Re: Cold Cathode Review!

That's a good question but I don't think that that was listed on the documentation. That's something to mention though. Brandin is writing a review on a ZX mods model so he may mention it.

Re: Cold Cathode Review!

Anyone under 30 is a kid now.  ;D I am the official standard for old dudes, and that starts now at 43.  BTW, 12V is what the CC uses, I've never seen any other voltage for CCs, and why don't they ever list the watts, for anything?  I always wind up getting 400+ watts PSU just so I don't have to count watts.

Since some questions still havnt been answered, i'll be the Technonerd for today and give my input.

For a standard 12"
The inverter nominally requires 12VDC.  You can provide as much as 14VDC without harming the inverter or lamp and as little as 6VDC before the lamp quits glowing due to insufficient power.  The power consumption is between 350 and 400ma at 12VDC.  That between 4.2 and 4.8 watts.  The inverter generates as much as 1000 VAC to power the lamp tube itself, so be careful!

Re: Cold Cathode Review!

We will be emailing ZXmods and asking them what the watts are for the one we are reviewing right now. We will list it in the review.
