DSL is 100MBps. I have it. 56k sucks ass. I used to be on it. I almost killed myself. (literally)
|
No... There is no 100MBps DSL. I am assuming that you are reading your Local Area Connection stats and seeing the 100MBps. What that is, is your network card is connected to your router/DSL modem via a 100 BaseTX ethernet connection.
|
That's what I was saying. I connect at 100Mbps. Actually my computer is Linksys wireless, so I connect at 11Mbps. My roomate's computer is on at 100Mbps.

i hate waiting in a queue...
on irc, kazaa, or even gamespy... but i dont mind gamespy keep going with their subscription service scheme because bandwidth is really expensive and they need that to afford the super high traffic they have seriously, a company with bandwidth that big... its wonderous why they didnt think of charging sooner... |
no.. i'm not on 56k.. and no, you dont have 100mb dsl.. the lan is 100mb.. dsl is "512kbps" or basically 50k like i said..
|
The MB doesn't mean "mega byte" it means "mega bit." There's a difference. A 56K connection means 56 kbps. It only downloads at 4kbps. I don't know how fast dsl is, all I know is that I download at 150 Kbps.
|
actually, MB is Mega Byte, and Mb means mega bit
56k is mainly referring to the upload speed, which is much greater then the download speed. |
well i DL at 50 give or take a few K.. whoever made it mb and mb.. and kbps and kbps.. need to get canned...
|
I think charter accidently uncapped our speed, i've been getting this for the past few days...
and on an accurate speed test (RIT NDT) I get 1.9mbps |
thats not bad
the fastest ive got on my cable is about 400 KB/s |
