LOL!!! I know what you mean.
Just this weekend when I installed the Heat Pipe I also put some Artic Silver 3 on it. After I put it all on I noticed the HSF wasn't seated properly so I took it off. The AS3 acted like a suction cup and I literally ripped the CPU from the base. It was stuck to the bottom of the HSF and I had to use a screwdriver to pry it loose. Needless to say, the processor is still chugging along. :biggrin: |

I'm just about afraid to remove my HSF anymore, I just might end up ripping off a couple pins because of that damn Arctic Silver 3. :P

try a little less silver :) your only supposed to use a thin layer! Very thin, just bairly enough to cover the contact area!

Yea, I was very careful about putting too much on it. I used the edge of an old credit card to smooth it out but it still did it a second time.
I think it's gonna stay on there a long time before I remove it. :nod: |
