Re: What is the best college for networking?

I attended Ohio University in Athens Ohio.  My Major was in Communications systems management with a specialty in DATA and Sat. coms.  I'll agree with the group that was saying if your wanting to learn alot of hands on down and dirty networking, College is not the place to get this.  However I'm 24 with seven classes left in my degree and i'm on my second third full time Job as a Network Admin in Novell, Unix and Microsoft.  I'm not a god at what I do but I"m decent.  Right now I"m stuck in a company I dont wanna be in and I"m having an impossible time getting into another job without my full degree.  That is 7 intro (econ, fin) classes that I keep getting responces saying contact us as soon as you finish you degree.

While I wont say OU is the way to go or the best college networking program out there with there ComT degree it combined with the computer sci, MIS, telecom and Bussiness schools give a person a great opertunity to taylor their education in a specific direction and there is a technical college called Hocking tech partnered with OU that offers full Cisco acadamies as well as other technical programs.

If anyone wants more info on this stuff drop me a line.

Engineering Department

$40,000 USD/YR

Is better than MIT :)

Look for Thomas E. Everhart, and learn something from him.

TIE (Tennessee Institute of Electronics) http://www.tie1.com offers a 16 month course that gets you your Associates degree, A+, MCSE, CNE, and CCNA for less than 20K. Plus, they have a bachelors degree program but I don't know how much more the cost is.

I'll be starting there in the spring of 2003.
