Re: The Origin of Your Screen Name: what it means
Wizbones
Wiz for Wizards, I love the midevil time period. Wizards, Sourcerous's, Dragons and the like. Castles especially. Some day I'll own one myself. Bones, is what my buds called me when I first joined the service. I have tatoo's of skeletons and well I used to be pretty skinny. I weighed in at a whopping 116 Lbs when I joined the Army. So I kinda favored Wizbones. In facted decieded to call my biz Wizbones PC. I know not all that interesting but hey you asked. 8) |

Re: The Origin of Your Screen Name: what it means
mine's kinda boring. The user name school assigned to me was coffejor (Coffey, Jordan) and I got so used to typing it that I began to use it as my user name for other things.

Re: The Origin of Your Screen Name: what it means
that stinks that you have to have an assigned name...how come they dont let you pick your own name as long as its school appropriate? j/w...but it sounds like you've grown fond of this name...so i guess its ok

Re: The Origin of Your Screen Name: what it means
Well, I have two screen names that I use. Omega is the older, and original of my two screen names. I came up with it during junior high some day during science. I was pretty smart, so I'd done like, everything in the class already, so I was allowed to go mess around, or whatever, pretty much. The teachers liked me, so it was easy enough to do whatever. Regardless of this, I was somewhat depressed (not to say that's improved).
Omega, the concept, comes from ancient times...ancient Greek I think, and is also alluded to in the bible. "I am the alpha and the omega," said Jesus, (iirc) meaning, "I am the beginning and the end." The end times is somewhat of a chilling, and depressing thought, so that's what I went with. :: :: :: :: My other screen name is [glow=black,2,300]p14nd4[/glow]. I'll start off with explaining that translates to planda (not pianda) from 1337 sp34k. This comes from the word panda. Pandas are pretty pimp animals to begin with, so I wanted to do something with that. p4nd4 doesn't look as cool as p14nd4 (imo), plus one late night when I hadn't gotten sleep for a while I was talking to a friend about how cool pandas are (I have some weird discussions late at night when I haven't slept for a while), and we came up with something funny about a planda, so that turned into my other handle. |

Re: The Origin of Your Screen Name: what it means
hi think omega has put an animated gif in there now ;)
get comfy, i have a few SNs ;) first off, (The)Techfreak, tech as in technology, freak as in a freak, ive always been interested in computers, some time in 1997 when wanting a new alias (before i had pc_nut), i just came up with it while registering for a free domain on freenetname, i wanted somehting cool and interesting and it just came to me ;D in april this year i started using RogueProtoKol, this was because my parents are paranoid and wouldn't let me use thetechfreak anymore due to me using it once in 2000 while brute forcing a bt mail server, they had been moaning at me for using it ever since, also i was beginning to goto places i had signed up to in the past where i had used thetechfreak and couldn't remember the password, i didn't want to use some lame change like thetechfreak2k etc..., so i finally decided to change, i came up with the name in 2001 actually, i was thinking that it may be a good idea to have a 2nd secret backup id, you know, just in case you get into trouble etc..., i had been playin rogue spear alot at the time and i really like the idea of Rogue, but i wanted something else that reflected hacking/networking/computers, after going through some words i liked RogueProtocol, which i registered only at yahoo, now when i went to switch i couldn't remember the password (was over 15 chars long!), and a K instead of a c looked better so then came RogueProtoKol ;D now Techfreak and RogueProtoKol is my main alias, other screennames i use are; Maverick - for online flight sims, top gun is one of my faves movies and im interested in military aviation, and im a damn'ed good pilot so Maverick seemed to fit ;) Merlius - for any medievil style games (and MUDs mainly), obvioously the medievil theme, wanted something which sounded good as well, Merlin was too magic like, wanted something which sounded more aggresive like a warrior but also wise like a wizard, Merlius was invented (first used on A Dark Portal) the only other SN ive used is pc_nut and pc_nutcase when i first came onto the net in 1995, i was 8 years old so new to the net, as i said ive always been interested in computers so i came up with pc_nut and then pc_nutcase when i forgot my password! thats my history, you can goto the toilet now :) |
Re: The Origin of Your Screen Name: what it means
I'm actually thinking of changing my s/n here. What do ya'll think of the "Grinnin' Reaper" . Grinnin 'cause i've allways got a huge grin ;D(that's why I post ;D all the time). And reaper cause I have some dangerous hobbies. Beside's driving at unsafe speeds on a regular basis, I use to be an avid hunter, I was also a crew member on US Air Force Surveillance aircraft (did some war time in '99 in Kosove) and I also am a volunteer FireFighter in West Virginia (with hope's of going paid some day). Oh and no g on the end of grinnin' to highlight my country boy accent. Waddya think??
