Bingo! thats right. Win98 has no built in protection, its like driving around with a Ford Pinto, a full tank of Gas, and having a bumper sticker that says "Please tailgate me".

By the time you stop to check for someone hacking you (the possiblity of which is very small unless you have something they want and are on broadband) its already taken place.

so what are you saying? if my computer got hacked, everything should of been erased or courrupted right? Well, everything is fine and it doesnt seem i got hacked in any sort. Is there any evidence that shows if i go on that i got hacked? yes i am on a dsl but the modem is connected to a router and both is connected to a surge protector, i turn off the surge protector b4 i goto sleep at night and i unplug the modem....i dont think i have anything that would want a hacker hack into my pc.....

Your killing me. Your computer is most likely fine. The only thing you need to do is learn a little about computers and the internet, and change your OS to windows XP when you get a better computer. If your running 98 Im guessing your computer is a few years old.

yeah its a pentium 3, 600 mhz with win 98 se, its a lil slow and it runs out of memory really fast when im playing yahoo pool.....but everything seems fine, why i asked is because im a lil concerned about the skill and intelligence level of the "hackers" in the hackers lounge in the yahoo chat rooms......but thre are no strange signs on my computer to tell that ive been hacked
