Both MIK3 and my rigs are built by us.
The thing is, someone who wants to build a fast machine, they just have to by the parts everyone raves about, and stick them together in the only places they fit, follow the instructions of their motherboard manual to set up the BIOS, pop the Windows or Linux CD in, and press ENTER about 5 times. Then they make some popcorn and watch some Simpsons for about 15 minutes and comeback to a finished system. That was hard. It's not like the old days where you had to know something to put a system together. |
the skill is how high you can benchmark a system.. but often when you have those skills, you're hampered by how much you've budgeted to your system (as in my case[see video card])...

check out www.sfu.ca/~tdh/local/jul9/ for more pics i just dremeled a blowhole on the acrylic window of the case today hooked up the evercool aluminum closure case 120mm case fan to the rheobus instead of my usual 5volt mod sounds quiet now and gives me a 95F for CPU when working in photoshop and stuff priming gives me about 100F im using thermalright SP-97 with a 92mm fan i took out from my 467watts enermax PSU mobo is VDD modded all the fans in there are modded too except the 92mm one because its quiet enuf cool and quiet and fast enuf! no problems playing far cry except i do wish for a 9800 Pro so i can turn up the AA and all the eye candies |

its like $199 everywhere now.. for crying out loud, Fry's even sells the "made by ATI" versions (not powered by) for $199.
