dunno. I have not figured that out yet. I don't think I ever will figure it out. need this, need that, keep this bill, loose that one. i'm figuring somewhere around 200-300$ US

true but an lcd will not play music in my room... also, I got the hookups for pretty much any HP product... so I see an HP lcd in my pc at the end of the summer ;D

You guys read my mind exactly on this forum, i'd love to have one of those cheap lcd's suspended on an adjustable arm off my main monitor. Prob is, i haven't found much evidence of anyone having actually done this. I found this site [url][/http://www.laptopsagain.com/shopsite_sc/store/html/Toshiba_Screens.html]
which offers toshiba screens, "FL inverters" (whatever those are) and cabling harness. The harness looks promising as it is what (i assume) connects the video card, to the FL inverter, to the lcd screen. It would seem to me that whatever plugs into the video card could probably be modded to fit into a dvi adapter.

cletus, none of the parts you see on that site are the ones really needed. what's really needed and hard to find is an lcd controller.

nah, i bought the shidd for an ass full uv money (240 euro). that babe got a stink normal coax 75 ohms tv in. i'll put that babe behind a nice looking aluminium frame together with an analog vu-meter whose little red rods i'll light up wit uv leds  8)

i dedicate all my new case to the voided warranty and it's crew. i think we represent enthusiasm, the big fight for the best performance and the thought that computers gotta be more than a shitty beige box :)

got the alu frame finished today. now it is time for some soldering action. i think i will finish the screen project in about 2 to 3 days and then i'll get the cam and publish some action shots ;D 8)

ok. i gots the uv lights now. the vu-meter is lighted from left and right by a high power uv led rated 3,2 volts 180 mA each  8) :o. those little pointers are uv-active. they look so ince glowin pink in front uv tha blue background. i also built in a lighted switch for the lcd ;D

got the frame finished, built in plexi for savety of tft, built in tft, built in vu meter w/ uv leds, built in red led lighted switch for the tft, begin soldering tomorrow, will finish tomorrow or day after, publish pix soon 8)

aiight i have a question for yh, lets say u get a laptop screen like a 14 or 15 incher can u hook that up and stick it on the side of u're computer on the panel were u're mobo would be sitting on u know what i mean?? what i'm really asking here is will a normal laptop screen work and those it matter what company it's from?? and can u get them with a touchscreem thingy?? they technically u wouldn't need too bring u're monitor and u could use a mouse if u wanted too, get what i mean?

ya, exactly what i said. i had the vu meter lying around for half a year or so and then i thought, why don't combine it with a 5"tft and an alu frame. and hey, i gots the shit nearly finished and it looks so damn good that even my local modder collegues got greed-greenand nearly died from shame ;D

i wanted to put a laptop screen in my truck for an mp3 box i had started workin on. but i had no idea how to adapt the lcd to the pc, then frank sorta figured it out, but it would cost a few hundred bucks, so i would still love to do this, but its too rich for me right now. actually the whole project is on hold, getting married in 3 months, so all my attention is there. thanks for all your help guys.

As i look at it it kinda looks holographic...is it or is it 3-D. If it is infact 3-Dimensional...man that must have taken alot of effort and many hours a day to accomplish and the detail in is is magnificent! Brilliant!
