LCD Computer Case Pics

OK,

Here are the photos of the final project:

Photo 1 -- I took a picture of the inside of my case and made it the desktop of the LCD to look like a window. Cheesey, but clever, eh?

Photo 2 -- Good old Linux desktop...

Photo 3 -- The whole computer at an angle.

To protect the screen, I cut out a piece of 1/8 inch plexiglass on my table saw. Then I taped off the center portion on the back side and painted the perimeter black. If I were to do this all over again, I would have masking-taped my case so as to prevent the nasty scratches I inflicted on the case while cutting out the opening. I also would have waited to get my case nippers back from my friend instead of using my dremel's cut-off wheel --- but what can I say, I wanted to get it done. Anyway, There it is...

Cheers all,

Richard

PS -- Notice the LAN Handle on the top (handicapped safety grab bar) for easy toting to LAN parties...Fun, fun, fun...

Last pic...

Yeah, the last pic shows a photo I took of my computer's guts as the desktop of the LCD monitor (see the description of Photo #1 --- I didn't realize that the attached photos would be in reverse order). After I had cut out the side of my case, but before I installed the LCD, I took a picture of the side of my computer with my digital camera. Then I cropped it in photoshop to just what was visible through the cutout and resized the image to 1024 x 768. That makes the image actual size when set as the desktop of the LCD. Like I said, the "window' desktop is cheesey, but I couldn't resist...

Laptop TFT in pc case!?

Hi all - I was looking through this thread, some of the ideas are amazing! But most are too expensive for the like of my pocket :(

I have a butchered monitor from an OLD laptop and i found this card on ebay (see link) Seller claims that it will go in AGP slot and run a TFT/LCD type screen without any other gear.
