I worked for a company who always provided us with powerbooks, and I'll never forget the first one I actually went out and bought on my own. $3700 and I nearly choked! Treated that thing like an infant!

sounds like i am on my own but i am a windows girl. mind you i have not had that much experience with apple mac.
