ptsmkr89 11-01-2004 12:39 PM

hey sorry to contirbute to such a mess of a topic, but a few years ago, when i was still in public school, we had bess for an internet filter. to get past that i just went to Tools>Internet Options>Connection>Lan settings and i changed the port number from 8080 to just 80 i dont know if that will still work or not, probbably not but u can try. right now im trying to find another way to get past websense. i was typing gibeo.net after the url but now that is blocked as uncatigorized. we cant use proxy's or change the port number, we dont have acces to the lan settings.

AIM me at aciddropper89 or email me at potsmoker87@hotmail.com if you can help, TY

i found another way to get around blocks. take the url you want to access go to www.google.com then language tools and paste it into the translate. Try german to english then try the link. It should bypass most blocks... :)

Okay.. listen to this. My school has bess. Everything on earth is blocked. You cant get to anything you want to look at, and our network people monitor the websites people go to a lot and block them. They reformat every computer every other day, and there are hundreds of restrictions on each computer. You cant get into internet options, or anything even remotley close to anything helpful. They are starting to piss me off so much that I just want to put a virus or something on the system and hope they all die. Is there any way I can disable bess? Get to my websites without anything thats ever been used on bess (kuz they probably already have it blocked)? Or bring down something at school so they get all mad?

---- Even if you can find a site to download and install aim, as soon as you try to run it, an alert box saying something like "AIM IS BLOCKED FROM OUR SYSTEM" and it wont even start up at all! I HATE TROY!

Prometheus 11-16-2004 02:26 AM

put Firefox on a usb drive thatll let you get to internet options inside of FF.

GET AROUND THE ADMIN BLOCKS

Hi I am Neil 16 year old college Student from SW England UK.

I'm in college right now on the computers lol... I'm having the same kind of shit your experiencing. I cannot access any of the bloody MSN messenger or AIM web messengers cause they are all blocked. I was able to use www.msnger.com recently but they have since blocked that too. :(

Sucks.... I've tried a few things you have suggested and can't get them to work. Please help me!

How can I run this shit without being traced? I can get kicked out of college otherwise lol...

Thanks.

Neil.

Prometheus 12-10-2004 09:25 AM

just dont do it?

or use remote desktop. because if they trace it it doesnt matter since it's on your home computer.

and for those that care

I changed the subject of this thread so the OMG BESS I WANNA CHAT IN AIM isnt so painful in an email

Jason425 12-10-2004 11:07 AM

number34 02-23-2005 01:32 AM

Baddog has been blocked(about 10 times) so you are now on your own.

Nice thought Cannon but Wopple set that up for our district only :/ Now seeing that the ihateskool series is totally down do you know the new one?

Oh and Cannon, your Hairs on fire.

Prometheus 05-03-2005 04:54 AM

I stickied this because I am sick of other people posting "how do i get past web blocker XYZ?" questions.

my 2 cents

http://www.google.ie/search?hl=en&q=...xy.pl%22&meta=

most of those sites should get you past......

matt123 05-09-2005 07:28 AM

go here

go to peacefire.org, and download the circumventor, it gives you your own url that you can use to get around internet blocking, i heard it was made for people in china, because their government blocks their sites, you have to have cable internet for it to work, which sucks for me

chtech 06-06-2005 01:48 PM

if your school has windows you can go into DOS and type in ping (the site you want to unblock) and it will give you the ip adress for the site type that in the adress bar and it will go to it you can do the same thing for linux

Here is all you have to do to bypass.

1.Copy all the files for remote desktop to a cd or usb drive and remote desktop to your house where you arent filtered.

or

2.Go into the command prompt and type ipconfig -an this will show ALL open ports. Then search for ports that are open and have proxies availible on several proxy websites and plug the proxy into IE's Tools>internet options> Lan settings and the port

Very simple

Heads up all I have written a long Doc on Borderline hacking in school but with ETHICS! As soon as I edit some pictures in it I will put it on TWL. Given permission and editing from keefe and the admins.

excuse me.. may i know what is an open port?

what is a proxy actually?
so sorry for the explaination needed..
i am very noob..

vee_ess 07-27-2005 02:40 PM

Every connection made on a network is made through ports. When you are connected to the Internet, the ports that are open are the ones that you can make connections through. When you use Remote Desktop, you can run your home computer from the location that is filtered, and will see everything as it is on your home desktop. You will be able to use your home internet connection to surf the internet instead of the filtered access that you are provided.

In a browser, if you have it operate through a proxy, it will not connect directly to websites to load content, it will request the content from the proxy which will relay the data from the site. So long as the filters don't stop you from using the proxy, you will be able to access anything the proxy can access - anything at all.

... stumbled across this site the other day ... http://www.hidemyurl.com .... you get to test your site (i needed to get into yahoo mail) and it worked for me so i paid the $30 for a year ($2.50/month) ... you get an online account ... all web based NO software to install ... NO settings to change ... seems to be working for 95% of sites ... i have had some issues with heavy JavaScript sites but thats about it ... looks like a winner ... they also offer http://www.hidemyurl.com:900 ... websense and st bernard are only looking on port 80 ... so they block http://www.hidemyurl.com in websense or st bernard port 900 will still work ... as long as their IP is not blocked at your location it should work just fine ... i was using megaproxy.com but this is BETTER and CHEAPER

they even have a free service that is better than anything like tinyurl.com ... you can have custom link endings and EXPIRE your link ...

Well, I haven't been actively following this topic, but I stumbled across this article discussing several methods for gaining access to restricted internet resources on a filtered network. I believe most of it has likely been covered, but i was interested to learn this following tidbit:
Quote:

Surfcontrol does not know what do with a hex address so it just lets it go through. Long story short if your company uses Surfcontrol click here http://0x40.0xeb.0xfa.0x32/ and you can probably get to Howard’s website.
I had no idea that hex IP representation worked (nor had I even considered the possibility). Someone was clever.

cvx 11-22-2005 05:33 PM

I would reccomend finding some sort of organization that specilizes in these types of things. When the proxy urls are posted publicly they are blocked within weeks if not days. I use a site called Trilogy Group for help around the filters. They never post the proxy URLs publicly so the filters don't see them. Of course to get access to the urls I had to make some forum posts on their site, but I dont mind because ever since August I have been browsing free from the dog. Just check out Trilogy Group and get a good knowlege of what your up against.

First: Open explorer and type in http://babelfish.altavista.com/

Next: Scroll down to where it says "Translate a Web Page". From there simply type in the site you are trying to go to (ex. www.mtv.com).

FINALLY: This is the most important step. Right underneath where you type in the URL of the site you're trying to visit, you have to change the language from whatever it's set at (I think it's English to Spanish) to Korean to English.

Then hit enter, and be on your way.

This works on MOST not ALL web sites. Try not getting caught doing this or telling alot of people like I went and made the mistake of doing. Because soon your administrator will get wind and block http://www.altavista.com.

In that case just search Yahoo for another "free online translators" or go to www.worldlingo.com.

Well I hope I helped some you out. Right now I'm working on how to download AIM through Bess. if anybody has any tips on what to do please email them to me if possible at onezero00@yahoo.com.

If any of you wanna talk to me on AIM my sn is onezero00.

peace

k o K a i n

I saw one problem with that. Bess blocks it as a P2P/loophole. I'm currently trying to get pass bess but it seems that Bess is always one step ahead of me.

littleriffy1 12-14-2005 01:00 PM

All the things you guys post up here the administrator or whoever the hell does it sees.
to actually post it publicly, without it being blocked is to put it on another website.
so to actaully post ways to turn off or get around or neutralize or do anything with bess, you must put it on a website that bess does not block

littleriffy1 12-14-2005 01:02 PM

Bess thinks its perfect, let them think that.
As long as they do, they have no reason to add anything.
When they figure out they arent perfect, they put more stuff on the block list to perfect it.
