Noise Reduction
I have 5 fans in my computer and it seems like it is getter louder and louder. What tips does anyone have for reducing some of the noise from the fans.
Thanks! Keefe |
Re: Noise Reduction
if ya temps can stand it you could either switch the fans to 5 volts using the red and the black lead of a molex connector or to 7 volts using the yellow lead as psitive (+) and the red one as negative (-). you can also use rubber grommits to mount ya fans, tehy reduce noise too. i would suggest a 7V/12V fanbus as described @VH http://www.virtual-hideout.net/guide...us/index.shtml .

Re: Noise Reduction
Would it work if i used some kind of thin foam insultation inside the case?
|
Re: Noise Reduction
yup, insulation works too, you can either use the foam or cork. works the same

Re: Noise Reduction
Hmmm, theoretically thinking, wouldn't that cause the inside of the case to become a lot warmer?

Re: Noise Reduction
i thought you said you have good ventilation? ;D, and what do you exactly want, i thik it´s already proofed that a computer can´t be cools and silent both with aircooling.

Re: Noise Reduction
I think i am going to add another fan and then try some thin foam.

Re: Noise Reduction
add a big fan, the bigger the more silent they are, what do you think about my fanbus suggestion? if you´re a lazy guy you can also use only one fat toggle switch to switch all fans voltages down to 7 volts ( i have a 7v/12v switch for my 8000rpm delta fan and he´s runnin almost all the time @7v)
->my 38mm delta is @7v quieter and has more power than my old ys-tech @12 volts has<- ;D |
Re: Noise Reduction
I think i will just add a larger fan, i really do not want to have a baybus in this machine. There is no room for it unless i did come serious moddin--Which i really do not want to do right now.
Thanks for the advice! |
Re: Noise Reduction
