My case fans setup and modded gfx card *large pix inside*

Jason425 11-06-2004 06:15 PM

ouch on the 90 seconds it took to load this page.. jeez man....

anyway, loven those fans and the whoel look, except the fan out of the powersupply scares me and the green mobo is kinda fugly (after seeing a million of those bastards at work you would too)

Uranium-235 11-06-2004 06:39 PM

what heatsink is that?

eviltechie 11-06-2004 08:11 PM

Thermalright SP-97
with the enermax 92mm fan on it

well, its an epox
and it OCs pretty well after my dad volt modded it for me
heheeh
so i like the green
also there is an LCD display down there that shows the boot sequence codes incase of something goes wrong

Jason425 11-06-2004 09:17 PM

epox... oh well don't judge a book by its cover right? (yea right) ;)

eviltechie 11-07-2004 04:37 AM

heh

yeah epox, the only good boards that are green at the same time

lol
if im upgrading now, i would probably get DFI NF3 250GB or the gigabyte one

but DFI is the ultimate overclocker nowadays

Jason425 11-07-2004 11:45 AM

no asus?

eviltechie 11-07-2004 12:36 PM

asus is just horrible in comparison to gigabyte and DFI

Jason425 11-07-2004 12:52 PM

there must have been a revolution then... back in the 2.4C day DFI was nothing but good looks... and gigabyte just seems boring to me... but whatever.. those AMd mobos are always bass ackwards :D

eviltechie 11-07-2004 03:13 PM

revolution, yes

DFI is the insane overclocker now
almost all reviews will tell you so as well
even on paper, it is impressive and stands out

Gigabyte has better support and also lower RMA rate than Asus

Jason425 11-07-2004 05:24 PM

one thing I will say about asus is they have the worst support that i've ever seen from any company/person/anything.. i'd rather they not have tech support and make prices cheaper... it's that bad...

clockworkmep 11-07-2004 10:54 PM

eviltechie 11-08-2004 01:47 PM

asus is pretty much the bottom of the pile of all the brand name mobo makers now

really sad for all those who still have faith in them
they cheap out on capacitors too

MSI have major problems once in a while too

really, reputation of mobo makers have to be updated almost monthly and ppl need to be informed of how sucky they are now

sad...

DFI is the number 1 enthusiast board now (coming out with a glow-in-the-dark Pentium M desktop board!!!)

chaintech and epox the following candidates for a good mobo
then gigabyte is the all well rounded package with good support and good products

Jason425 11-08-2004 08:37 PM

what.. have capacitors fallen off your mobo because that amd burnt up? Why do you agree?

I refuse to accept that DFI is the best and asus is the worst.. I respect your opinion, but don't ACCEPT it 8)

eviltechie 11-08-2004 09:32 PM

i didnt say best

i said number 1 for enthusiast as in overclocking features and all that
the facts are right there if you arent lazy enuf to search for it...

Jason425 11-08-2004 10:01 PM

http://www.tomshardware.com/motherbo...916/index.html hm... asus breaking more OC ground.. maybe that's only on the amd side?

no they are cheap.. if you wiggle them even a little bit by accident they seem like they are going to break off.

eviltechie 11-08-2004 10:43 PM

LMAO
do you really trust what tom says?
he should be taken with a large pinch of salt nowadays

and how about read up on DFI

Jason425 11-08-2004 10:45 PM

you can't skew a fact.. it's still a groundbreaking feature, no matter who talks about it.. and wtf are you doing playing with the capacitors...

eviltechie 11-08-2004 11:18 PM

when i say bad capacitors, i mean the ones that blow up because of bad formula

http://www.tomshardware.com/cpu/2004...escott-01.html
fine, lets stick with toms for a sec

yes, Asus has just got a groundbreaking overclocking ability out of their sleeves

but thats only for that board at this moment
perhaps a couple more to come
but im sure others brands will follow suite

without that BRAND NEW feature, DFI is a better overclocking board than Asus

Jason425 11-08-2004 11:23 PM

ok fine whatever.. i'm still not buying a DFI board anytime soon :P

CiKoTiC 11-09-2004 11:05 AM

DFI without a doubt has the best MOBO on the market right now.

Jason425 11-09-2004 12:03 PM

if overclocking is a job, we would be called the professionals
lol

Jason425 11-10-2004 12:12 AM

read up on em.. I see they stole some OC god from soyo or whatever.. but I hold my position.. when a good value chip comes out.... IN BTX .. i'll jump on...

Gixxer420 11-10-2004 03:51 AM

The OC god you are referring to is name Oscar and he use to work for Abit not Soyo.

eviltechie 11-10-2004 02:09 PM

yeah i remember Abit first came out with some socket A unlocking methods that unlocked the Athlon XP thoroughbreds

-- Overclocking champion “Fugger” set a new world record of 6.3 GHz in CPU overclocking –

DFI, maker of the award-winning LANParty and LANPartyUT series of motherboards, today joined the enthusiasts community to congratulate avid DFI user, Fugger, in his recent world record achievement. Using only phase change on an unmodified LANParty 875P-T motherboard, Fugger successfully overclocked his 3.6 GHz Pentium 4 (LGA 775) processor to stunning 6.3 GHz, or about a 75% overclock!

Unlike any in its class, the new LANParty 875P-T motherboard combines the best of both worlds. Designed for the latest Intel LGA 775 socket architecture, it features the mature Intel i875P chipset and includes an unrivaled feature set. The motherboard natively supports low latency DDR400 in dual channel mode and AGP 8x, enabling users to upgrade little at a time while enjoying the performance advantage the i875P chipset offers. Since its debut, avid overclockers around the world have been able to break various world records thanks to its complete overclocking options, forgiving hardware platform, and high quality components used. Last month, Oppainter, world 3DMark champion, marked double world records with the new LANParty 875P-T motherboard in 3DMark03 Hall of Fame (score 18515) and 3DMark05 (score 8382).

eviltechie 11-10-2004 04:49 PM

PWNS Asus big time!
lol

seriously asus uses cheap parts
cheap capacitors to save them like 3 bucks per board

the next board i buy will probably from DFI

StinkyMojo 11-10-2004 05:24 PM

I'm looking into shuttle boards now that I am considering a SFF pc.

Jason425 11-10-2004 10:17 PM

yea.. I Oc'd a ghz so they're cheap and got pwned.. that's an exciting OC but come on.. i'm not getting phase change any time soon.. and wtf does SFF have to do with a big OC or DFI?

StinkyMojo 11-10-2004 11:16 PM

nothing.. ET said what his next board was gonna be and I said what mine was.

pwned because DFI is usually cheaper than Asus but uses better quality components and generally more stable even with moderate overclocking

better support too

the multiplier unlocking technology will be adapted by lots of mobo manufacturers soon

Jason425 11-11-2004 08:44 PM

yea.. so I hear the k8v is one big fat pos.. some guy on hard forum was trying to sell it to me but I read too many bad things...

I haven't seen any bad asus intel boards, but there are a lot of AMD one's it seems.. the A7V coming to mind the most... *hugs p4p800*

eviltechie 11-11-2004 11:45 PM

yeah i have to say that Asus probably makes the worst brand name AMD boards now

yet noobs still go for it

so sad... sigh

im not an ASUS nut... i'm an MSI fan.. i've had about 3 MO Bo's by MSI and i liked them all... they are a little rusty on overclocking... but once you get the hang of it, it isn't too hard... :)

but those so called over clockers Mo Bo's are truely amazing.. *wishes he had one of those*

eviltechie 11-13-2004 01:30 PM

theres such a big difference btwn good overclocking boards and just "normal" boards

but price is not much of a difference
so makes me want to get rid of my epox for DFI just for the heck of it
hehehehe
