I'll probably get the SE DVD when wal-mart has it. Well, maybe when the price goes down to $49 or the less likely $39

I figured it out. I was at the place that was like a "trash compactor" and couldn't figure out what to do. I didn't see the hole in the wall. :P

Anyone know how to run the benchmarks in HL2?

Prometheus 11-19-2004 07:13 PM

:google:

CiKoTiC 11-19-2004 07:51 PM

figured it out. you have to record your own demo or download one. I used Hard OCPs. scored 103 FPS on both.

Jason425 11-19-2004 08:33 PM

see what happens on the ATI ones that are in graphically heavy scenes.. ;)

CiKoTiC 11-19-2004 09:26 PM

Got a link to ATI's demos?

Besides, all the reviewers except two (Anand and HardOCP) used ATI's version. ATI spent a week at Valve perfecting the demo and was allowed to distribute them. nVidia spent two days and wasn't allowed to take the demos with them (Valve kept nVidia's hard disks). It's common knowledge that ATI and Valve had a deal worked out. Same as ID and nVidia. It's all about who shells out the most money to associate their name with a hot product.

I would still like to run ATI's timedemo just to see it. :)

Jason425 11-19-2004 10:19 PM

No I don't have a link. Yes it is common knowledge... Yes Valve, ATi, Nvidia and ID are all sleezy companies.. mostly valve though... and yes I would like to see ATi's demo
