all i have to say about that is  |
jeez vee i'm suprised..
yea  that's why you bought a low-end civic that is bone-stock? All they have is decent mpg |
wow.. anyone in here thinks a civic sedan LX is low-end? heh.. bone-stock? learn a TEENY bit about cars before you open up your jabber and embarass yourself.
|
1) yours is an LX, 2) you have a spoiler that's sitting in the garage... gj crapping the thread.. what'd you get on the geek test
|
don't blame me on crapping the thread.. stop making stupid comments about things you don't know.. what if i have the spoiler sitting in my garage? does that bother you?
|
well just to crap on the thread further, a honda civic sedan lx is not high end.
for one, its a 4 cylinder. two, it makes 115hp and 110lbft torque, my wife's saturn makes 105hp. its SOHC and doesn't even have VTEC, the ex model does though. and a spoiler wouldn't do a lick of good on a civic, due to the fact that its fwd. (from automobiles.honda.com, http://automobiles.honda.com/models/...me=Civic+Sedan) now, is a new honda civic a nice car? yes. does it have awesome has mileage? yes. is it probably decently zippy and fun to drive? yes. high end? no. race car? no. i'm not making fun or anything, cause my saturn is no speed demon. once it gets going its fun to drive, i've taken it up to about 105mph (bounced on the rev limiter) but it takes 2 years to get up to speed. economy is the name of the game for almost any honda but the S2000. my $0.02. later |

anyhoo, 22% geek. |
nice flipflop...
Aemon is right about econoboxes.. there's absolutely nothing wrong with that, but calling it a "performance car" is a gross exaggeration. |
[quote="Jason425"]nice flipflop...
quote] I never did.. read it nice and easy so you can understand it. I still am backing my point about the car compared to CIVIC series.. not OTHER cars. Quote:
:shhh: |

oh really? If it's not low-end, that means you think it's high end... and if it's not even v-tec, it's not even a high end civic.. and it is bone stock.. and even if that spoiler were on, like aemon said, it wouldn't make any diff... |

 he's right |

My point about the spoiler was that it is stock, when you said it wasn't..
If you'd like to read about v-tec, you can so here: http://www.hotrod.com/techarticles/e...113_0307_vtec/ The point of a spoiler is to give the car downward force so that you have more control at high speeds. However, they also increase drag and therefore decrease efficiency. Since you won't even be goingthat fast, it's kind of silly. |

its basically variable valve timing. when you reach a certain RPM (imports will rev to the moon and back) then the compter tells the cams to shift- the cams on vtec engine have double the lobes, the double set is higher- so the shift moves the higher lobes into place, rasing the valves a little higher, therefore rasing perfomance at higher rpms.
my explanation. later edit: oops, a little late |

thanks stinky, i like cars. more american or european cars, but you just cant beat a good ole 240Z - i love those. or a skyline, /me shivers, nice car. acutally, i have a friend who works for Infinify (same as nissan) and he said that Infinity is importing the Skyline as an Infinity. Skyline in america. too bad i'm a broke intern.
edit: i just remembered that this isnt a car thread. later |
the skyline is one of my fav cars.. believe it or not, I've actually seen one last year in socal! it was so awesome..

Skylines are illegal in the U.S. as they are built from the factory. You can do certain things to it to make it street legal in the U.S., however, that costs nearly as much as the car itself in some cases.

i've personally been looking at the new highlanders and 4runners. need somthing to thow my board on top of, and eventually haul kids when we have them (we're on the 5 year plan, it has now been 2, time is running out).

yes, i want somthing useful.

What price range are you looking for, and what type of vehicle?
Get a '68 Firebird... those are useful for putting punks in Neons and Civics with ironing boards on their trunk in their place. |
looking for a smallish (i hate those tanks), but capable suv. if new, < $25grand. looking into toyota highlanders and 4runners. needs to be able to handle a canoe and kayak (at the same time), surf board, and kids (in a few years). and of course tons of hardware (many bestbuy runs, when i'm rich that is).

new civics arent really low end
jason425, you probably havent driven a low end car before lol try out my 98 Escort Wagon sometime new civic is much nicer than it lol i almost crashed twice having hydroplantings in the same location in 1 season... the rainy season its scary driving my car at a high speed... |

lol
then the new civic isnt low end hondas are so reliable so are toyotas damn it when i get some $$$$$$ ill buy a Sequoia and put 24's on it paint everything black too, no silver trim |
88 olds cutlass calais limited edition baby.. 2.3 liters of 4 cylinder 3 speed auto goodness! 8)
The prius is huge.. it's not even in the compact class.. AND it gets ridiculous mileage.. I just don't like the looks of the newest model |
For the record, Civics are low end. Used low end cars will of course be lower, but that doesn't mean Civics are not low end. Hondas, Toyotas, GMs, Fords, Chryslers, Nissans, they are all lower end vehicles. Mid-range would be like Acuras, Audis, most Mercs, BMWs, Volvos, Jags, Lexus, Infinitys, etc. Higher end vehicles would be like Porsches, Bentleys, Aston Martins, etc.
