put ice in the water 8)

kidding, I have no idea why it would be running so hot

Jason425 12-18-2004 03:27 PM

get some better thermal grease like AS5.. and make sure it's installed correctly.

eviltechie 12-18-2004 04:21 PM

what is the case temperature?

CiKoTiC 12-18-2004 06:47 PM

First of all, make sure the water block is seated correctly. I ran a water cooled system for months with temps in the high 50's and when I had to pull the water block off for something my temps dropped almost 20 degrees after I put it back on.

Also, what kind of water cooling system is it? Are there any restrictions in the tubing such as bends? Make sure the pump is pumping correctly, have it on its own molex power cable. If you have the pump on the same line as your case lights or hdds, then your pump isn't going to get a straight line of power and will slow down (had to find this out the hard way).

PinkFuzzyBunny 12-19-2004 05:48 PM

The case temp is 27 c
the water coller is a hydrocool 200 ex by corsair and ill cheak the water block. ty

PinkFuzzyBunny 12-19-2004 11:28 PM

Thank you CiKoTiC it was my water block. my comp is now running at
52 c :)

gnogtr 12-19-2004 11:36 PM

That's still a bit high. You shouldn't have anything over 45C.

Jason425 12-20-2004 12:22 AM

I would argue with that, but for water cooling, I would be furious if I had temps like that...

CiKoTiC 12-20-2004 10:39 AM

Yea, 52C is still a little hot for WC.

Can you give more specific specs on what kind of WC you are using?

PinkFuzzyBunny 12-23-2004 12:30 PM

would a peltier help? and if so is there any advice

gnogtr 12-23-2004 02:12 PM

Possibly, but that stuff's a little too expensive and dangerous (condensation) for my tastes. Water's enough. Do you have 1 or 2 radiators? How's the airflow in your case? How much does it pump per hour? Do you have it on your video card also?

PinkFuzzyBunny 12-31-2004 11:04 PM

no i dont have water cooling on my video or my co-prosseser. as to my watercoller it is a hydrocool 200 ex, made by corsair.
i was told that there is some mods i can do to it to make it more efctive.

is your computer next to a heater perchance?

gnogtr 01-01-2005 05:11 PM

If I were you, since the Corsair is external, I'd search google for the mods you were talking about. I have a Swiftech incase system that has dual fans/dual radiators, and I have it cooling my overclocked video card/overclocked processor. I'm looking at Asus Probe right now, and my temp is 43 C in a room that is probably 26C. Now, AMD runs MUCH hotter than P4, and on top of that, it's cooling a 9800 Pro that is overclocked way past 9800 XT speeds. While I'm gaming, I may hit 50C, but that's to be expected. Think about it, that would mean that my video card is running at around 50C as well as my processor. Now that's really cool for gaming temps.

partofme1337 01-11-2005 07:31 AM

MAke sure your heat sink is on correctly. Thats always important

ninikins 05-18-2006 04:02 PM

I dont know to me it sounds like a potential pum problem to be honest, seeing that the temp is still kind of high

Jason425 05-18-2006 10:56 PM

pum problem?

StinkyMojo 05-18-2006 11:15 PM

he meant pump

Jason425 05-18-2006 11:48 PM

oh... right. Get a big fan? :P @ water
