need help with blocked websites at school

i used to use anonymous webserfing to get on sites with games and music and other things at school because they had most of the sites blocked. now they have a thing called websense and its a proxy avoidance filter. does anyone know how to get past this crap

cherrypie 04-06-2005 12:51 PM

tossed this in networking (network "problem")

i think if you do a quick search around here you will find there are already lots of threads on very similar issues....

Hey i got by Bess!!!!!!!!!!
It is real easy to do.
All you need is an Aol account. Download an old version of aol to the computer off the net or bring in cd.
Then log in. It totaly bypasses bess.
It works for me it might work for u!

m0n0xide 05-10-2005 10:39 AM

The thing is that doing that is to easy to track. in order to use the aol u have to load a new program onto the computer. most schools have anti spyware detectors that scan for new porgrams and alert the teacher of any new ones. the alert wil say America online trial version and the teacher will be alerted.and u will be caught.

hey um can u answer my question prometheus

vee_ess 05-12-2005 02:55 AM

What computer are you on, is it a hospitable computer? If it's your own computer, and you can't access your own files, it has nothing to do with the hospital blocking you in any way. Are you trying to connect to the Internet?

kittykitty 05-12-2005 09:37 AM

what r u doin on a hospital computer? has n e 1 ever heard of the public libray?

dthompson 05-12-2005 01:18 PM

i am at a hospital computer because my mom has appointments

i am on the internet, but i cant change any settings or acces any programs or files except internet explorer

kittykitty 05-12-2005 02:47 PM

oh okay well use gibeo.net

vee_ess 05-13-2005 12:31 PM

Well, in a lot of public places they use measures to ensure the environment will only allow a specific program to run, often for security reasons. Often, they don't want you to install AIM, or an email client, or let you unknowingly allow spyware on the system. You aren't going to legally get around this, so you may as well just use the Internet.

christopher 10-17-2005 09:57 AM

if you wanted to use aim, couldn't you just put aim on a jumpdrive?
