Home grown window mod under $15

I don't think it's bad for under $15. Just wish I would have taken longer. I think I could have done better.

Sweetness :) dig the gold trim! Now ya need some fuzzy dice to go along with it :)

MIK3 08-19-2002 09:45 PM

nice deal man, yeah im likin the trim as well. $15 bux aint bad for that either!

Grinnin Reaper 08-20-2002 09:34 AM

Thanks. The trim is actually brass strips I got at the hardware store. The glass cost under $3.00. The rest of the cost was the trim and the bolts and cut off wheels for the dremel.

ARTbyTROY 09-25-2002 09:31 PM

Looks decent, it is unique anyway.

eviltechie 10-01-2002 12:49 AM

i like the key ignition start

is there a guide for that mod?

Grinnin Reaper 10-01-2002 08:10 AM

Not yet. But that may be changing if I ever have some free time. It's really simple. Cut the wires and hook them to the switch.

Nice mod, so what's next on the list?

The brass trim gives it a very good look.

eviltechie 10-01-2002 10:40 PM

i want a key thing that has the elastic feel in it

make it like turning a car key u know

Grinnin Reaper 10-03-2002 10:25 AM

Actually that what it is EvilTechie. The key turns 90 degrees to the right. When you release it, it springs full upright (to the normal position you see). And the computer "starts". Depending on your bios settings to turn it off you just twist the key again (just like tapping your button). Or you hold the key over for 7 to 8 seconds (just like holding your button in). The computer never realizes it's not the some old switch it had in there.

eviltechie 10-03-2002 02:10 PM

well then

how about a guide??

im wondering if you could just turn left and withdraw the key to shut down

and when in the "spring" position after started up, it restarts the comp...
