NEW WAY TO COOL YOUR PC, LOL

ok, heres what i did.

i installed my old geforce 2 on my crappier computer(800 Duron, 320 ram,40 gig hd) and i was gonna use it. then i realized, to my suprise, that my pc didnt even have an exhaust fan!!!!!!!!! What am i gonna do now, im stuck at the house all day cause parents at work. so i developed a plan. i moved my pc from my desk, which was next to my ac vent (hehe, luckily) and positioned it so that it was next to the vent. then, using some cardboard and some good old 15 yearold enginuity (i hope i spelled that right), i funneled all my ac from the vent, into the inside of my computer case!!!!!!! and it goes in there with such force that it goes out the exhaust vent, and still keeps my room cold!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i wish i had a camera to show you guys, gimme a week or two and then i will. hehe, this is awesome!!!!!!!!!!! i think i am gonna play some games now

WATCH OUT!!!!

cold air with moisture can condense and create water when in contact with warm air!!!

THIS IS A BIG NO NO UNLESS U SALT UR SYSTEM!
lol

or grab 2 boxes of Arms and Hammer baking poweder and soak up the moisture

itsuncoolpunker 08-31-2002 07:13 PM

hey now

hey i am only running air in there at around 77 degrees, i aint putin it on 56 or nuthin lol

itsuncoolpunker 08-31-2002 07:18 PM

oh

will running it at 77degrees affect it like you said, i mean its not like i am putting it in the freezer or anything but thanks for the warning man

eviltechie 08-31-2002 08:30 PM

it shouldnt unless your room is very moist

just keep the air around dry and all should be fine

except u will have a high payment for the electric bill...

vee_ess 08-31-2002 09:02 PM

Well, the air coming through the vents will be very dry since AC's dry the air they cool, simply for that reason that you are worried bout so I wouldn't worry.

You keep your temperatures at 77* ?!? You must have super high Electric bills! We keep ours at 88*.

Just wondering, why would you slat your system if you are worrying bout condensation? Wouldn't it be adding the electrolytes that make the water able to hold a current!

eviltechie 08-31-2002 09:34 PM

no
im thinking about when cold air starts to dirty dance with the hot air, wont that create condensation?

or perhaps a tornado?
lol

j/k

not slating man, just having a box of arm and hammer baking powder boxes sitting there

like the ones used for the fridge u know
obsorbs that dead man's smell and drys the wet socks...

yeah, i keep my house runnin at 75, being AZ and all... that is why i am not too concerened about my cooling for my pc. Another reason why i am not concerened is the fact that my pc plain out sux...but is just enought to live with...being that i am not and "extreme" computer geek....YET...my day will come

Uncoolpunker 09-04-2002 04:53 PM

electric bills?

My dads house is like, 1 bedroom, and its well insulated, and i keep my pc off a lot, so i dont have the air on, but anyway, i live in tennessee, and i couldnt stand stand living in a house thats 88 degrees. for it to get THAT hot, id have to turn on the heat lol, then i would be paying for heat bill, which reminds me, what am i gonna do during the winter, live with the heat off? hmmm have to think about that one. that or spend 20 bucks and get a decent fan.

MIK3 09-04-2002 07:48 PM

If your paddling upstream in a canoe, and a wheel falls off, how many pancakes fit into a doghouse? noe, icecream dont have bones!!! I don't get it...

eviltechie 09-05-2002 01:19 AM

LOL!

If my house was 88 degrees I would melt faster than an xp without a sink. I keep mine on 75-70 here is arizona, and withall my goodies in the house running most of the time, I still manage to only run around $120 a month for power, that is my and my girl and all my fish living here. To spend a little extra $ being comphy is 100x more worth it to me than be sitting in sweat miserable and saving some coin, that is just to me, also ac is usually very dry and I praise the guy for simple solutions when you have limited funds. I would do a similar thing but my ac vents are up to high to pipe anything that would not look like marioland in my office. I give the kid 7/10 skirts up for the cool idea on a budget :)

dang I need to stop typing to late, the more I read my typos the more annoyed I get *L* Mabey I will hire soccer stud to come correct my typing :D *L* :P

Bear 09-05-2002 03:04 AM

I lived in Nashville Tennessee 1984 and boy is it damp there in
the river vally uncoolpunker probably has a drier room with the
AC on than without.

Uncoolpunker 09-06-2002 06:06 AM

joke

soccer stud, how long you been playin? i am a keeper, and i love to play. i need to send you guys a pic of this setup i have. now my processor and my card are all cool to the touch as if my pc hadnt been playing SOF2 for 1.5 hours. as for the joke, its supposed to be retarded.

MIK3 09-06-2002 10:59 PM

Yeah, that would be cool to catch a gander at your set up. As for Uncoolpunker, I have been playin for 8 years...and started in 2nd grade. I usually play midfield or defense...just got done playing indoor for my high school.

Uncoolpunker 09-07-2002 09:41 AM

whoa

i been playing for about 9 years, but i havent always been goalie. i was mainly defense, but i love being keeper now. your lucky, your high school has an indoor team! i never heard of that before. my high school isnt huge, so i am gonna get to play on varsity this year w0ot!

MIK3 09-07-2002 04:00 PM

Yeah, usally we don't make Varsity untill we have reached 11th or 12th grade. Being that our school holds about 2400 students and the that we have been state champs 6 or 7 times...you need some serious skill to play Varsity at a grade under 11th. I believe we have only had 1 student who played all four years as a varsity player...his name was Heath Kreager. Check him out at the # 1 state in the nation for soccer's website. (Louisiana Sate)

vee_ess 09-07-2002 07:40 PM

6 years in a row. Its pretty cool. The coach is arrogant, though. Well, in all the instances I have dealt with him. Others think so, too.

MIK3 09-08-2002 12:09 AM

Yeah, Ive heard he can be a lil on the strict side, but he is a damn good coach! He definately knows what he is talkin about....trust me, when it comes to soccer. Next year I will have him for a coach, and I will only gain intelect on the game...and possibly be lead to yet another state champioship.

Uncoolpunker 09-08-2002 06:48 PM

our school had an awesome coach the past few years, weve been district and region champs, and we were state runner up, which is pretty nice since we only have about 450 students :D

MIK3 09-09-2002 12:46 AM

lol, thats a pretty small school you got there...guess it would be nice with all that space, you should see how crammed my school is!!!
