ive been on/off learnin linux since last november... need more time + money (for books and more boxes to run it) as well :(

I'm not sure exactly where all the things are located past that, but I know there's a lot.

Its year will come, but not this year. Hopefully next year. If the distro's are smart, they'll partner up with Nvidia on their new graphics develpment. Then, they will be able to incorporate Cg in their OS better, and instead of trying to come from way behind in the gaming dept., they will start out in a dead tie with the giant when Cg makes its impact. Once they have support for everything MS does, then the stability and speed will shift people over.

I am soooo there, the second it comes together I am definitly making the switch :) man that will be one cooooooool day :)

I hope so, because then Linux's rise will be that much sooner. If they don't ever grab part of the gaming, Linux won't make it. Just look at history - gamers (of the average users) are always the first to use anything new that makes it in the home market.

game development companies will actualy start making more games for linux if there are more users using linux

they play it safe

and why use linux for gaming when it is a perfect OS for networking?
