Amout of computer in your house...
 

I'm working on a project for prob. & stat., and I need to know the amount of computers people have in their house. If people here could just post how many...maybe I can start getting numbers higher then 3...

I currently have two working computers in the house and one that will get built in the next week or two. So you can choose either 2 or 3 for me, depending on the point in time you want to use for your data collection.

If you count my roommates and my wifes (it's not in the house at the moment but it's ours) I thing about 5 working computers. With various scattared parts. ;)

8 running computers

1x 1ghz amd
1x dual 1ghz p3
1x 333mhz iMac
3x 80386
2x 80486

12 running + bunch of non running.

1 x 266mmx (233 with 75mhz FSB)

Hey bear, can you get SETI@home running on all of those unused computers? We could use some more people on our team :)

I have 3 running 1 stting and 1 in the process of being built for a friend, only work on it when a hot deal comes up :D guess I am lacking compared to some people, if you go to my best friends house he has 6-7 all running but will not run seti because he keeps most of them shut off to save power :) I have 2 machines running now that average bewteen them 2ghz, a 1900+ and a 2100+ overclocked.

The packages take long time on all of them and I've been in a group
for years done 2955 units so far but maybe I can run on one more with different email and username will look into it this winter I should get
a pIII 667 coppermine running in a month or two.

I guess I should of specified(but it seems most people realized this) they do need to run. I don't care if it's your old computer sitting in your closet, if it will boot, I want to know about it :)

Oh, if anyone's curious, I have 31 computer, my dad has 3, and my brother had 1. So 35 computers here(and more parts then I know what to do with!)

I sell off the slow turds and build 1-2 kick ass machines, I cannot stand running anything under 1.2ghz. or that does not have a 266 fsb.

In that case I do not really know
30-40 and bunch of old parts.

Just one puter here with another in bits and pieces. Maybe I'll get around to putting it back together one day. :biggrin:

add a 486 to my list then.. its just sitting on the fridge freezer in the garage, o, and i have sinclair spectrum 128 ZX+2 in my cupboard, and another 1% broken laptop (CMOS cable has came out of solder)

I don't think a study of people posting at a technical forum is going to result in very conclusive analysis, though (unless you were doing a study of how many computers people who post at a technical forum have in their home).

Alright...I'm done. I'll post the results on I get my paper back, unless I find them stored on my computer. I think the average was around 4 or 5. There where also alot of outliers, so the range was between 0 to 12.

Oh woah is me... I only have one and it only half works.

I have one and an half computer( well, old spare parts that will someday become one for the rest of the family)
