Palm has new "cheap" versions of Palm Pilots...
NEW YORK (Reuters) - In a move to expand its market, Palm Inc. on Monday unveiled a $99, entry-level handheld computer, hoping that students and casual shoppers will find the low cost digital assistant a better way to stay organized than jotting notes on scraps of paper. Read it here |

I am pretty sure that they own HandSpring Visor which has been making well hand-helds for under 100 for a while, and that that is where they got ideas for the technology (of the low cost components). Any one know about this?
|
who owns HandSpring???
in Taiwan, HandSpring's stock actualy worth more than Palm's |
When did the discontinue the Springboard modles? Im sure the Treo communicator will make up for the loss though...
|
Oh yeah...Handspring is its own company i believe...
|
My bad...I was pretty sure they owned something that had to do with HandSpring. EIther way, both use the Palm OS and are below a hundred bucks, but the HandSpring is even cheaper. It would be interesting to see how they compare.

the Treo is something that my dad has been waiting for
PDA + cell but not many people is buying it because its bulky and large design only if they could make it smaller like the Nokia communicator but not that expensive.... |
They should make it smaller with the same resolution (since they don't want to change it) on a finer pixel, or just get over it and change the resolution. It will really suck if the standard becomes those phones with half inch screens and no power at all. Seems like they forgot to take into account that polling people generally gives them an idea of at least a basic need of the consumer.
|
Yeah, they should have taken into affect priar to production of the treo, its width. It is a bit to wide, but i do think that it is being sold for a reasonable price...
|
the nokia comunicator is expensive :/ , but its very good with lots of features
|
i wish i could afford one..... :shake:
|
lets take it to Sony Ericsson
Sony is good at making PDAs CLIEs are excellent Ericsson is good at making cells R320 is superior so?? lets wish after months of cooperation, they will come up with a pda+cell under 200 USD in a good package |
true....
