I am pretty sure that they own HandSpring Visor which has been making well hand-helds for under 100 for a while, and that that is where they got ideas for the technology (of the low cost components). Any one know about this?

eviltechie 10-12-2002 02:33 PM

who owns HandSpring???

in Taiwan, HandSpring's stock actualy worth more than Palm's

MIK3 10-13-2002 12:51 AM

When did the discontinue the Springboard modles? Im sure the Treo communicator will make up for the loss though...

MIK3 10-13-2002 01:07 AM

Oh yeah...Handspring is its own company i believe...

vee_ess 10-13-2002 10:52 AM

My bad...I was pretty sure they owned something that had to do with HandSpring. EIther way, both use the Palm OS and are below a hundred bucks, but the HandSpring is even cheaper. It would be interesting to see how they compare.

eviltechie 10-13-2002 12:09 PM

the Treo is something that my dad has been waiting for
PDA + cell

but not many people is buying it because its bulky and large design
only if they could make it smaller like the Nokia communicator but not that expensive....

vee_ess 10-13-2002 12:37 PM

They should make it smaller with the same resolution (since they don't want to change it) on a finer pixel, or just get over it and change the resolution. It will really suck if the standard becomes those phones with half inch screens and no power at all. Seems like they forgot to take into account that polling people generally gives them an idea of at least a basic need of the consumer.

MIK3 10-13-2002 07:58 PM

Yeah, they should have taken into affect priar to production of the treo, its width. It is a bit to wide, but i do think that it is being sold for a reasonable price...

Navid 10-13-2002 08:58 PM

the nokia comunicator is expensive :/ , but its very good with lots of features

Navid 10-13-2002 08:59 PM

i wish i could afford one..... :shake:

eviltechie 10-14-2002 01:51 AM

lets take it to Sony Ericsson

Sony is good at making PDAs
CLIEs are excellent

Ericsson is good at making cells
R320 is superior

so??
lets wish after months of cooperation, they will come up with a pda+cell under 200 USD in a good package

Navid 10-15-2002 02:47 PM

true....
