does the conversion work?
Also, could you provide a link to the actual item and not the Pic? I think I might order me one. Nevermind... I found it. It's the Saphire 9500. I should have it in 2 days. |
man, i need money to throw away like that!
well, first i need a new system. :( later |
right on man, hope the card works well! From what I have seen the ones layed out like the 9700 are the best like this one :) After ya redo it and all let me know what your clocks are and I will match them with my 9700 so we can directly compare chips / ram and mobo's against eachother >:)
|
Right on bro!
Damn AI, are we the only two that ever buys shit and does anything with it? :P |
on this site it seems like it *L* everyone else seems afraid to go overclocking nuts! I can honestly say I have never lost a chip to overclocking and only 1 vid card because of a dumb mistake :)
|
A long time ago, I had an old Intel 300 overclocked for about a year before it finally buned out. Never had anything else since. :)
|
I would have to say overclocking is "safe" in general for I have owned probably 15+ mobo's and about that many chips and vod cards with no issuies :)
|
Yea, as long as you know the basics to overclocking it's pretty safe.
Heck, most of the processors out there are only overclocked cousins of previous versions anyways. |
exaclty, to bad most have not figured it out *LOL* Heck I am almost to the point of thinking chips are hard to kill, I have dropped them, cut and reconnected bridges, overclocked the heck out of them ect... and they keep on trucking!~

LOL!!! I know what you mean.
Just this weekend when I installed the Heat Pipe I also put some Artic Silver 3 on it. After I put it all on I noticed the HSF wasn't seated properly so I took it off. The AS3 acted like a suction cup and I literally ripped the CPU from the base. It was stuck to the bottom of the HSF and I had to use a screwdriver to pry it loose. Needless to say, the processor is still chugging along. |
*LOL* that is to damn funny!!!! That chip has a factory heat spreader correct..?? *LOL*
|
I'm just about afraid to remove my HSF anymore, I just might end up ripping off a couple pins because of that damn Arctic Silver 3. :P
|
try a little less silver :) your only supposed to use a thin layer! Very thin, just bairly enough to cover the contact area!
|
Yea, I was very careful about putting too much on it. I used the edge of an old credit card to smooth it out but it still did it a second time.
I think it's gonna stay on there a long time before I remove it. |
