My wicked new toys :)

I bought these from coolerguys! They rock! Fast shipping and good email responce. The fan is a 52cfm 60mm x 60mm x 38mm delta which cools around 6F better than my smaller old fan and bairly louder! The skull grill rocks! I looked around and saw everyone else had the biohazard and radiation fan grills so I decided to go the other route :) Hope ya like the new mods! hehe

CB-Byte 02-13-2003 09:10 AM

Prometheus 02-13-2003 09:10 PM

man im so f****** jealous i have this shitty comp usa brand case dull gray box

(kind of like Steven the Dell guys cell)

eviltechie 02-13-2003 10:37 PM

lol AI, i would suggest you put a grill on that fan as well
it seems like something that is more painful than your previous delta

coolerguys are great
bought my hsf from them
they care about their customers

btw i have typed this before in this post
did someone delete my post?

Marine 02-14-2003 08:20 PM

dude i got a killer case now.i painted it orange and put a window in it looks sweet.you should do something like that for you grey case man if it's not aluminum if it is i would like it the way it is.

eviltechie 02-14-2003 08:30 PM

i think AI's case looks just great
he should put on some decals and stickers of car stuff or something

MIK3 02-14-2003 11:52 PM

My god...that delta is insane. Its a friggin air intake from an 18 wheeler. I gotta admit, goin cross-bones and not bio-hazard is awsome...its cool no not only mod, but be different w/ it as well..that's what makes you a really good modder.

eviltechie 02-14-2003 11:56 PM

yeah im really sick of looking at bio hazard logos over and over again on ppls comps and websites...

its not unique

i want my comp engraved with a naked lady!

CiKoTiC 02-15-2003 12:54 AM

F U

MIK3 02-15-2003 02:02 AM

LoL. Dude your case is still awesome, all that "I" am stating is that AI took an alternative, different approach. If it is me that you are reffering "F U" to...that is why I posted this...and if not, ignore this post, heh

eviltechie 02-15-2003 02:08 AM

i was expressing my opinion about the logo
if you want to feel bad then go ahead
but i did not make any form of personal aggression to you

only states that a biohazard grill is getting old and im sick of it

unless you are a biohazard logo, i did NOT say i am sick of you

CiKoTiC 02-15-2003 05:47 PM

hehe.. I was just kidding.

MIK3 02-17-2003 12:10 AM

Heh. I know...just givin ya a hard time man. Any case mod is an awesome mod...why you ask? Cuz its MODDED!

accurateimage 02-17-2003 01:27 AM

Right on guys :) hey guess what! As a new feature of my company we are doing lazer etching! We can do just about anything like the plexi on the cover of xocide's page. I will have samples late this week and my case before this weeks lan party will be etched with my company logo! woohoo :D We can etch anodized alum.. steele, plexi, plastics just about anything and put anything on it! hehe

Oh yeah also I am changing heat sinks to a SK7 with 80mm delta!!! SHould drop temps down a bit. If anyone wants my current heatsink set it will be for sale on ebay tonight. I am running at idle pretty much right now at 96F at 1.85V at 192 x 12.5 mult. That is damn cold hehehe. I just wanna try somthing new before I go watercooled.

eviltechie 02-17-2003 01:59 AM

something is wrong with my heatsink installation..
or the mbm reading

its damn hot
45C
49 loaded...

it should be around 40
i gotta reinstall it

eviltechie 02-17-2003 02:47 AM

phew
41C now

dunno what happened...
but atleast reseating it works...

someday ill have to get a thermalright too before going water
;)

accurateimage 02-17-2003 03:17 AM

hehehe :) I want the koolance system for it is so simple, looks good and works better than it looks! Also note that you can get a blue lcd kit for it now so it is not red hehehe.

eviltechie 02-17-2003 03:25 AM

exos is quite expensive though
but yes, its simple and less to worry about

something that i have to save some money for

looks great...
i wonder how loud exos can get with those fans

CiKoTiC 02-17-2003 05:01 PM

Yo AI, I think I'll take that HSF off your hands.

send info. 8)

accurateimage 02-17-2003 05:43 PM

Right on man, it is on ebay right now, here is the link :)http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...402328518&rd=1

CiKoTiC 02-17-2003 06:20 PM

Humm, was hoping you would just give me a price. I'll be needing it pretty quick. I'm putting together a new system. Can't decide on a 2800 or 3000 and what memory to buy. :P

What do you think about this memory?

CORSAIR MEMORY XMS Extreme Memory Speed Series 256MB 32MX8 PC-3500C2 With Heat Spreader
Speed 434MHz
Organization 32M x 64
CAS Latency 2-3-3-7-T1

eviltechie 02-17-2003 06:26 PM

i think the corsair's xmspc3500 is really over-rated

CiKoTiC 02-17-2003 06:31 PM

What would you suggest instead?

accurateimage 02-17-2003 07:13 PM

I would not use anythng but the corsair 3500 for overclocking. Gives me the best timings! If you are going nforce and want the best performance use the matched stuff and only 2 sticks, I sacrafice a little bit running 3. But the thing is I needed more than 512 and could not afford 2 stucks of 512 so I went with 3 sticks of 256 and that gave me the perfect amount of ddr memory. If I could have afforded it I would have gone with the 2 sticks of 512. Also I would go with nothing but the asus mobo and volt mod, if you do not wanna do the vmod go with the abit nf7-s. I am hopefully looking at the barton this week if all goes well, going to have it overnighted to me on wednesday or thursday but we will see what happens... not sure if I can afford it right this week but who knows! I want it before I go to the lan part. Also note that from what I have seen is on games which is all that matters to me, the barton really is not much better than the 2600-2800+ reg family. A killer 2600+ will only run ya $249 at newegg right now and it is one heck of an overclocker. Your looking at 2450mhz with ease.

accurateimage 02-17-2003 07:15 PM

Oh yeah the reason I use 3500 and not 3200 or any other brand but corsair is that with 3 sticks I am running on a daily basis 2.5-2-2-4 timings and can run that at with 3 sticks on place at 194fsb before I need to up the timings, I have not ever seen any other ddr do that in the config I am useing, and bet your butt I have checked around :) Also DO use dual channel and go with an nforce board.

CiKoTiC 02-17-2003 07:22 PM

I think your corect on the Corsair memory. It seems to be the best 3500 memory out there at the moment. However, I can't seem to find the matched 256MB sticks anywhere.

In addition, I'm considering getting the Epox board over the Asus board (nforce2)

eviltechie 02-17-2003 07:23 PM

Quote:

Use Twinmos PC 3200 or other DDR PC3200 and up uses winbond chip (Corsair XMS PC3500C2 is not recommended, they are really over-rated)
http://8rda.com/page2.htm

just something i read
i would keep my mind open for other brands though
corsair isnt the bible u know

accurateimage 02-17-2003 07:51 PM

I know it is not the bible, but for serious serious overclockers and for all the guys getting the best scores I have not seen any better or anyone getting the very top scores useing anything else but pc3500. Also there is no matched pc3500 at the moment sorry, did not mean to mislead ya, only matched pc 3200, I would not even concider running pc 3200 to be honest with ya after useing both. Not even close to the same beast at high speeds :) what features are you looking at in particular with the epox that is leading you that way..?? Just curoius.

CiKoTiC 02-17-2003 07:58 PM

Stability mostly... from your accounts and reviews the Epox seems to be much more stable than the Asus. In additon, I can't verify the Epox board supports the xp 3000.

If bought 2 sticks of the Corsair 256MB, can I get the same performance/stability as a matched pair of something else? Do I "have" to get matched pairs? There is matched pairs of corsair 512mb sticks (1GB) but I don't want to pay that much for memory.

accurateimage 02-17-2003 08:56 PM

Ah, if you bought pc3500 then you are set :) That is the fastest best around, and no you do not have toget a matched set at all! A matched set is just guaranteed to run at 400mhz ddr for pc 3200. Trustme you will have no probs running 400mhz + if you can go above 1.75V on the northbridge.

CiKoTiC 02-17-2003 08:59 PM

kewl... ok, last question. which would be better, one stick of 512mb pc-3500 or 2 sticks of 256mb pc3500? (corsair of course)

Gixxer420 02-17-2003 09:59 PM

you need 2 sticks to be able to run DUAL CHANNEL. If you buy 1 stick of 512 then you can't run dual channel..... :wavey: :wavey:

CiKoTiC 02-17-2003 10:01 PM

Kewl, thanks. :wavey:

accurateimage 02-17-2003 10:09 PM

yeah man, dual channel is the bomb... massive increase in score over single... but remeber, one thing I have learned that most have not is on an nforce board you are limited to a max bandwidth of 6.2 gb +/- a little. Most people think that running super high fsb speeds is were the 3dmark scores are at but in fact they are not :) It is all in the tuning unless your willing to do tons of vmods. I have proved it over and over!for instance the difference between 166 and 192 fsb is HUGE, the difference in bandwidth between 192 and 210 because of the limitations of the chipset whichmeans the difference at high fsb is really not that much when you look at it in sandra, and you will score higher running faster timings :) So keep it under 195-194 fsb and run your timings wicked hard, then use the multiplyer to peak out your mhz of the chip... just a little advice :)

CiKoTiC 02-17-2003 10:36 PM

Alright, here is what I'm thinking I should go with...

AMD XP 3000 or 2800 (depends on how much cabbage I can swing)
Asus A7N8X Deluxe
(2) Corsair XMS PC-3500C2 256MB DDR

The Tyan Tachyon 9700 pro shipped out today.

accurateimage 02-17-2003 11:02 PM

Sweet man :) That sounds like one hell of a rig :) What case are ya gonna use..?? same one..??

eviltechie 02-17-2003 11:35 PM

man u ppl are rich

Jason425 02-18-2003 12:20 AM

word to the 30'th power... :o

CiKoTiC 02-18-2003 04:36 PM

I "thought" I was gonna get a 3000. Newegg said they would be in on the 18th. They did get them and sold out in a matter of minutes. :(

I don't know if I should wait for the 3000 or go ahead and get the 2800 barton.

AARRHG.. Newegg is sold out of the Epox boards.
