Audigy 2 drivers
I just reformatted.. and installed xp pro.. no drivers at all for my audigy 2 anywhere for me that i can find. All drivers assume you already have drivers installed and are updates.. My ears are losing it, help! (btw i cant find my cd tahts why i havent installed)
no i'm not a lazy bum! that was the first place i went.. i go to install those and it says these are wdm drivers, vxd are detected, install wdm and try again.. in other words they say install with the cd first. last time this happened i was lucky enough to find the cd in a rar file somewhere, i cant find it this time.
you can always order the cd from them on the website
but if the problem is winxp auto loading a driver then do the following restart and go to safe mode... then install the drivers from safe mode and restart then go to safe mode again then reboot to normal windows its a bit painful combating the winxp's auto driver install... good luck btw incase u dont know, hold F8 2 secs after boot up and choose safe mode |
oh also... i havent tried this but
you can try the "english driver pack" see if it differs from the WDM |
The "multimedia audio controller" is the audigy2, the drivers are on the desktop... I think the pci input device is a controller i haven't got around to setting up.
make sure there are no IRQ conflicts
it is seated properly and you have downloaded the appropriate drivers audigy 2 platinum audigy 2 platinum ex or just audigy 2 or even audigy 1 |
since i've made the attempt of downloading and installing what were labled audigy 2 drivers from many different places, that is out of the question, i took it out and put it back in, no difference.. and when i had the cd it worked.. the stuff that installs with the cd is well over that 7 mb.. i don't understand why this wouldnt be availible to download.. i went to tech support at creative and they probably wont respond until monday.. i havent found anywhere to order the cd from creative either.. maybe i should have listened to everybody and got a turtle beach card..
I just spoke with their tech support about the exact same problem.
The tech support guy said exactly what you said about the drivers on the website. THEY ARE UPDATES! Not drivers! To install the drivers after a clean install YOU NEED the CD. I have yet found a way around this and am calling 1-800-998-1000 to order a new damn cd. If anyone get's around this please email me. Thanks. quickone_fxp@yahoo.com |
Solution.
The way to get around this is to choose "update driver" on the Multimedia Audio Controller in the Hardware panel, and choose "install driver manually." Then install the SBLive! driver embedded in Windows 2000/XP. Restart your computer, and then install the Audigy 2 update. It'll work. You just have to install the wrong driver, initially. Yay Creative for making this so needlessly complicated. Heaven forbid they release driver packs.
Creative Labs are a bunch of morons - they are still doing that 'driver updates' and not putting complete driver packages on their website. They are making it needlessly complicated for their customers.

so i just used this trick to get my audigy 2 card to work because i lost the CD.. problem is only 1 output will work on the card (front) and the rear outputs wont work and this needs to be modified in the EAX consols... i guess there is probably no way for me to do this without the cd is there? why cant they just release a full driverpack!?
well i just ordered a new cd, it seems there is no way around this to get all of the features of the card to work correctly, if anyone out there is curious a new CD cost me 15.44$ from creative, what a joke
and this is +1 reason I go with Fortissimo III
that's a bunch of crap.. $15 for a cd.. money whores..
it might be easier
if you have winrar installed, you can just unrar the downloaded patch file. Then run set up from there. I only tried once. I am going to do some more testing on this.
i have the original driver ....it works.....
i found the driver on the net that works ...but dont update it cuz this knackers it..........i will put it on my website...computermenders.com
this works
hi, i normally dont reply to posts, but i was reading this because i was having the same problem with my audigy 2 card..."it says these are wdm drivers, vxd are detected, install wdm and try again.."
well, one of the folks on this message board said to, well ill just paste what he wrote: The way to get around this is to choose "update driver" on the Multimedia Audio Controller in the Hardware panel, and choose "install driver manually." Then install the SBLive! driver embedded in Windows 2000/XP. Restart your computer, and then install the Audigy 2 update. It'll work. You just have to install the wrong driver, initially. Yay Creative for making this so needlessly complicated. Heaven forbid they release driver packs. I tried this and I can vouch for this because this really works, and now my sound card works without having to hasstle calling creative labs and order 15 dollar plus s/h driver cd. |
every time I try to shut down a box comes up saying you must quit this program and then another box comes up that says end task I hit end task then I can shut down please tell me how I can delete this it is so annoying thank you
