disabling bess filter
 

heres the deal, my school uses BESS internet filtering across the network. Currently the browsers are set to use the local proxy 10.0.0.9:80 (the bess proxy). When i change this value to another proxy, it doesn't work. There must be another unblocked proxy across the network, is what im thinking..

any ideas around it...?

ive tried cgiproxies, but the selected site still gets blocked..

go there, that site keeps a usually updated list of cgi-proxies, it gives instructions on how to use many things like hotmail, geocities, google images.

and for the url to translate put http://babelfish.altavista.com/babel...?lp=en_es&url= then your url at the end. this will translate the page to spanish and back to english. It gets around web sence on mine, and i can read the page. i hope this works for you.

translations dont work. its a loophole and theyre are all blocked - no u cant disable bess, you have to bypass it. look at the other thread on it.

www.proxify.com isn't blocked by bess. i used it today. just goto the site and then your free. it's very simple. :lol:

i think some (tree minus stump)ing of some of those things you use to unlock doors might be neccessary. Find what im talking about, punch the answer to the riddle into google, check first result, you can figure out the rest.

Hey you can go to www.baddog.net.tf and if this site becomes blocked go to www.bypassbess.net.tc for the new URL. This site is easy, all you do is enter in your URL and baddog takes you to the site.

ok FYI that site may not work cuz the ppl who created BESS manage it and update it. if they find out about any sites that could possibly help ppl get through their filters or crash their system, they will just simply add that site to their filter. ITS THAT EASY 4 THEM! :lol:

Try removing the proxy address completly if that dont work then i doubt most other things will.

Most school / colleges block port 80 on the routers by default (port 80 is default port for IE)

Once that has been blocked only way to access the net is via a proxy server.
Using public proxy servers wont work either because it still has to go via the school proxy server to get to it!

dont but "[name of website]" but whatever site is blocked and like i said before it doesnt always work so dont yell at me about it

as of 4/10/2005 when i tested these links proxify.com and all variations DO NOT WORK! Bess are constantly updating their database to cut out all loopholes.

ive found that you can open the command prompt for the computer in start -> accessories, then you can type the word ping then the site you want to goto, then it will tell you the ip address of the server, type in the ip of the site and off you go, its alot of work if you visit alot of sites but aleast it works

that doesn't seem to work against surfcontrol

The best and sure way to get around bess is: have Mozilla FireFox on your flash drive and a list of alternate proxy addresses on it. If you need the list that I'm talkin about send me a message and then I'll get back to you on that. If you guys need any other questions answered, lemme know.

Ok in my previous and yet still workings on Bess as a senior in High School i have figured out that Bess has now blocked most loopholes and translation pages even the ones posted on this thread.......But to my suprise i have been useing the same proxy for the past 4 years and it has yet! to be blocked at my school. So if you have problems try this proxy Https://www.stday.com This proxy allows for the viewing of most sites but flash and stuff like that dont seem to work. When u connect to this page scroll down a bit and you will see a search bar type in the address you want there and another window will pop up with your site...Have Fun!!

the stday website i cant even read or guess what it says and i still am wanting to by freaking pass bess but all the loopholes i know arnt working so its making mad and all you people just need to start finding out how to bypass it so i can mess around......... so please hurry the heck up with finding a site that actully isnt bloked off by the damn dog.

Listen you little shit-knockers, if you're too stupid to figure out how to get around Bess, thats your problem. Stop demanding that we use our knowledge of breaks in the system to give you little twats access to every site. That's our business and that's also what home computers are for. I for one found a complete way through Bess that never fails because I created a web browser and I did not allow for Bess to be installed on that web browser. So find your own ways around Bess.

ok well does anyone know how to get around it? as of today all of the options posted above do not work, ive searched google for proxy servers and run a site through and every one i have tried is blocked

also command prompt is enabled at my school, i tried pinging the sites then typing in there IP, it still blocks them that way also

ok so the way that works best for me is i download opera web browser from http://www.opera.com/ and you save the install on your flashdrive. bring it to the computer with bess and install. Once you have it installed you go to tools then quick preferences and Uncheck the "Enable Proxy Servers" option. it might take a second then you are off surfing :) i used it today at school so i know it works.

ok i found a site that isnt blocked, u pm me if u want to know what it is, it is a german search engine that has its own proxy server, as of yesterday it worked, i dont wanna posit it public cause i dont want alot of people finding out about it as it increases the odds of it being blocked

put portable firefox on a flash drive and u can use a proxy in it very easily, unless the USB ports are dead

unfortuntaly there's nothing u can do thhat i've tried anyways to stop bess form blocking or bypassing bess its just to hard the sites that u can stop bess are blocked by fucking bess so therfore i say thats theres no way to stop bess
