New house...

We're moving in tomorrow. They still haven't taken alot of thier stuff out (including a dining table and a grandfather clock).

Now the point of this post....

one of the rooms was painted by the grandfather of the x-married couple for thier children (well one of the 3 - notice the balloon says 'Jonathan's Jungle Book').....

this is.....wow

Well its not my style but any one can see that took alot of time, effort, and talent. Is the new house you are moving into still in the FW area?

Keefe 08-08-2003 03:10 AM

Is that going to be your room?

Uranium-235 08-08-2003 09:54 AM

no, it's in Mansfield. We managed to close before the tax rates spiked.

it's going to be my parent's study.

the divorced lady that lived there last, left her husband's stuff there for him to get which he obviousely hasn't. This is going to be my room, as you can see, inside is the husband's computer (OLD AT system). It might not be worth much, so I don't mind if he takes it. But I hope he leaves that relativly new 17" monitor :D

the first suggestion i would give is to stay away from vynil all you hard work will go into tears and dents. Alot of times its hard to do anything while in college as they keep ya pretty busy. The best timesaving tips i can give you is plan well(its better to have too much than to little) and buy, burrow or rent the best tools you can get your hands on. Thers nothing more frustrating than doing a job with a cheep tool quality will save you time in the long run. Ill make the suggestion that if you are renting the appartment than to talk to your landlord they may work you a deal and make you not pay rent for working on the appt

Wow, that painted room is...um...scary? It's quite elaborate, but it's a bit out there. I'd paint over that ASAP.

The rest of the house looks quite nice though. Congratulations, and I hope everything works out well (and you don't run into any unforseen problems...leakage, electrical, etc.).

Uranium-235 08-09-2003 02:50 AM

I doubt it, the house is only 2 years old

eviltechie 08-09-2003 12:42 PM

Uranium-235 08-11-2003 07:53 PM

well I'm here, at the new house, I'm on the network gateway, the other computers haven't been moved yet. There's an electrical storm coming so I need to make this brief.

We signed up for the gold package @ charter.net cable. And I did a speed test @ TBW ( http://www.thebandwidthplace.com/speedtest ) and I got 171.4 KBps (yes that's bytes/sec, not bits). A great improvement over our previous 113KBps on swbell DSL.

well I'm taking the other computers over tonite and hooking up the network

bhye

P.S. We have digital cable! yay, over 150 channels including TechTV!!!!

eviltechie 08-12-2003 03:34 AM

nice!

techTV is awesome
i regret not having digital cable...

Silverhawk 08-12-2003 09:54 AM

the house looks nice :)

Omega 08-16-2003 03:41 AM

Do a speed test on DSLreports.com, so we know what your upstream is too. If you've got 170 KB/s upstream to, I just might have to come and kill you.

Mac_forever 08-17-2003 12:10 AM

wow that is a big improvement from 113 to 171. So Omega, are you using a cable modem or is it still dsll? I agree that techtv is cool. I watch it everyday.

eviltechie 08-17-2003 02:16 AM

my ADSL sux
download only at 150 kb/s
upload at 60 kb/s

Mac_forever 08-17-2003 11:57 PM

You guys are lucky that you have a broadband connection. I am still on a dialup connection getting around 44kbps.
