I wont laugh.
Its basically where people cut holes in the side of there cases, put neon lights inside it, then cover the hole with glass.
Pretty much anything that makes your case more attractive without providing much (or any) performance boost.
I've seen pictures of cases where the mods have actually had a negative impact on performance, such as covering the case with fur (??)

[color=Blue]i think case modding has it´s roots in overclocking.
some years ago, not more than3 or 4 , people startet to add fans to their cases to get better cooling performance for overclocking. when computers became more common, some people came up with the thought that they didnßt like having the same stuff as anyone else and so painting started. nowadays modding also means to get more comfort and add some custom features to a case such as leading a headphone jack or the nic leds to the front panel for better access. so modding is nothing more than modifing a case to fit you personal needs and piss other people off by having a much more bad-assed machine than them ;D

I think -=aoC|PRoZaK=- put it best by saying "a case to fit your personal needs"  Really all you do when you case mod is you customize your machine to make it individual and unique to you and when your done you get a pretty light show or lts of motors whirring from fans.  Whatever you do to make your computer better to your like is modding in my opinion.

So bascially

Modifying the character of the computer container to something more unique and personal

dude, i did a TON of clear coat applications..its just that its moved to much ( to and from college and lans) that it gentates scratches on corners  :'(

you should wash out ya mouth with soap. sayin´something like that. we´re all modders, it never stops, we never stop modding, our cases are neither perfect nor finished!!
and we never never LOOSE AMBITION. it comes and goes by time, but it´s never lost

im sure it will come back, but at this point i just have no more zeil to soup up my case anymore than it is. someday perhaps..but not today

I really don't know how you can afford to constantly mod cases.  Cases aren't cheap, and they don't really increase your computer's performance (other than maybe a little bit of temp drop).  It took me a couple years to move from my old mid-tower that I've had since my K6-2 500 mHz to my current full-tower, with fans, etc.  I just always said that it worked fine as it was, and I could increase performance, which is what I really cared about, by getting something else new.  I drew the line after my 1 gHz AMD Athlon T-Bird ran about 55 C once I put my 2nd CD drive, 2nd hard drive, and a Voodoo 5 5500 AGP in there.  Now I don't know how I lived ;D.

that´s really yours? congrats, respect, think i saw it on VH didn´t i? my room-mod looks a bit like yours, i call mine fragg-o-rama: pc under desk(right), monitor in the middle, left a 55cm tv, right a 37cm tv, jbl esc300 dolby 5.1 (200 watts sinus total)(subwoofer left under desk). ok, but i don´t have those fat 19" racks.
whadda ya do with that rig? serving, gaming, pic&snd editing?

It's really mine....I will have the complete specs on it up shortly on my website....Part of the sound system specs are 5.1 Dolby Digital with THX certification...It will put out 1500w RMS; there are two more racks in that room that you can't see in the pic that hold additional speakers.....It's been on VH, AMDZone, AMDmb, etc but it looked different than in this pic.
