10 Billion Trillion Trillion Carat Diamond

Astronomers discovered the 10 Billion Trillion Trillion Carat Diamond in the core of a White Dwarf Star. (all I want is a small chunk, basketball size, no one will notice, I will be set for life)

When and if they ever mine at that location the price of diamond will drop faster than a lead sinker.

When asked to estimate the value of the cosmic jewel, Ronald Winston, CEO of Harry Winston Inc., indicated that such a large diamond probably would depress the value of the market, stating, "Who knows? It may be a self-deflating prophecy because there is so much of it." He added, "It is definitely too big to wear!"

The only words that come to mind are "No Really?

i want a piece...... a big piece...... like a basketball.....so i can have a couple rings, a necklace, a nice tennis bracelet, and body jewelry.... then i'd sell it and live off the rest.....that would rock!

I just want one big chunk, did I mention I want that chunk to be a solid flawless E-F colorless and flawless. Then I simply auction it off on ebay, and sit back and watch as the ebay servers crash and the bids top the trillion dollar mark.

Wonder what kinda computer I can buy with 500mil. And the more important question is of course after spending 500mil, will it play doom3?

cherrypie 02-16-2004 06:12 PM

well yes of course a flawless/colorless..... but i'm a girl so i want jewelry too..... i'd split it up and sell it to a number of jewelry companies

OK tell you what, if I get my basketball sized colorless, flawless diamond, then you get a 20 carat pendant to do with as you like.

Jason 02-16-2004 11:49 PM

A basketball sized diamond would weigh quite a bit. You don't just run away with it. But I would be happy to help you run carry the weight. :)

Bouncing Diamonds

actually prometheus, diamonds are very bouncy, if they hit something hard. try dropping a glass marble onto a sheet of glass, very very bouncy - diamonds are even more

Jason425 02-17-2004 12:25 PM

i'd be afraid of the glass breaking :/

xrayfizzycist 02-17-2004 12:38 PM

actually it wasnt so much a pane as an inch thick slab, but it still bounced really high, better than rubber balls on concrete, and if you drop a diamond onto a lab floor it flies off, never find the damn things again...
