NEED HELP ON TEMPS PLzzz

I jus recently oc'ed my Amd Xp 2600 barton to about xp3000 speeds and my temps are very high.

Idle(diode)-44c
Idle(Socket)-47c
Case temp - 22c

It gets worst on load

Load(diode)-49-52
Load(socket)50-54

I have two exhaust fans in the back and one intake Antec Led fan on the side. I have two slots for fans in the front of my case but no fans in front. I also have a Thermaltake Volcano 11+ on full speed.

So can anyone tell me what to do or recommend what fans i should buy that are pretty quiet and have good cfm. O yea and tell me whats the best configuration for fans. I have a Chieftec Dragon full tower.

um.. yea so basically those temps are just fine... my p4 gets to those temps too..

templar2o0o 03-07-2004 04:12 PM

Ok thanks can you recommend any case fans that are good.

eviltechie 03-07-2004 04:20 PM

panaflo 80mm
M or L

or vantec stealth if you can get them cheap
they are often on sale locally in vancouver so thats what i have in my case

templar2o0o 03-07-2004 04:50 PM

Hey do you think the Vantec Spectrum Led fans are good. Or maybe the Antec LEd fans

eviltechie 03-07-2004 05:20 PM

if you have a window... maybe

if not, no
they arent worth the money

templar2o0o 03-07-2004 05:28 PM

Yes I do have a window. Im planning to buy thermal compound and I cant choose between Arctic Silver 3 or Arctic Silver Ceramique. And does anyone know if the Vantec Fan dampener kit work or not.

Jason425 03-07-2004 08:34 PM

why not AS 5?

gnogtr 03-07-2004 09:21 PM

Shoot, my water cooled system gets temps that high! Don't worry, as long as they stay under 60, you're ok.

templar2o0o 03-07-2004 11:07 PM

K i'm thinking about gettin one of these fans

Vantec Stealth Fan
Thermaltake Smartcase fan II

Which one would you recommend

Jason425 03-08-2004 12:19 AM

dunno from experience.. except i'm not a fan of TT .. maybe read some .. and btw your sig opens outlook..

templar2o0o 03-08-2004 12:44 AM

yes sry my mistake

Jason425 03-08-2004 01:30 AM

so fix it ;)

eviltechie 03-08-2004 04:04 AM

id go with stealth fan if you have about 2 intakes and 2 exhausts
if only one of each, get something more powerful

i dont like TT stuff
half of the price is for looks, not performance

templar2o0o 03-08-2004 04:23 AM

Tell me if this would be a good configuration

Tt Smart Case fan II w/ Tt Volcano 11+heatsink(might use Tt Duct mod)
2rear Stealth fans
1or2front Stealth fans
1Antec Led side fan
And im going to use Arctic Silver 5 for cpu.

gnogtr 03-08-2004 03:15 PM

Yeah, TT is fairly expensive for what you get. The only thing they're really good for is their cases, I like them alot. Their 80mm fans are really quite and cool too.

Jason425 03-08-2004 09:27 PM

yeathe last system i built i used the TT fans that turn red with the HD

gnogtr 03-08-2004 11:50 PM

My TT Xaser III case has the cool orange fans. The only thing I can hear running is my 5 hdds....

Jason425 03-09-2004 12:04 AM

i've got a spark 7+ .. cools ok but it's really loud *well i have to turn it up under load to have a good temp*
