Try http://www.freeworlddialup.com

Many advantages here. You can use softphones and hardware phones. They even have many interconnects with other VOIP providers. Actually right now you can call any US phone for free by dialing * then the number. (ex: *12253431111)

More info on this type of thing to come soon....

Prometheus 05-20-2004 11:18 PM

Jason425 05-20-2004 11:22 PM

StinkyMojo 05-21-2004 09:51 AM

Jason425 05-21-2004 07:27 PM

vee_ess 05-27-2004 02:04 AM

It doesn't have long distance charges.

That doesn't mean it uses a phone line.

I don't think I would call it that... jason425 is making it sound like you have to have a phone line to use the above two services. All it takes is the internet, the app doesn't care how you bring it(wireless, cable, dsl, laser, etc).

BTW, I don't have a traditional copper pair phone line in my house at all. I'm strictly 100% VOIP.

Jason425 05-28-2004 12:27 AM

Yea I thought it just took the internet too.. but then pro confused me.. bah @ this phone stuff..

Try: www.voipbuster.com. If you have an unlocked ATA like the Sipura 2100 or something like that: 1 EU, one time, and you can call anywhere in USA and Canada for free. Only downside: no incoming calls.

You can test the connection for free but are limited to 2 minutes per call, but US$1.5 is not bad for an unlimited outgoing connection! I have it as my "emergency" line.

All VoIP

Join the club!

I have a SunRocket, AxVoice and Broadvoice line and have a voipbuster line as backup. Did I mention that I have a cellphone too?

.....And I wonder why I'm getting voices in my head...

So far, SunRocket is the best deal, and BroadVoice has the worst (by far) reliability.

Dave

I pay, but use lingo, they're not too bad of a voip service. I really needed free european calling and they provided it. so far it's been quite excellent.
