VNC problems... error 10061

Ya... when I try and connect to my comp at home, I get a 10061 error.
I have it on accept connections thru port 5900, and when I punch in my VNC adress, then :5900, I still get the error. Im at school, behind a bess filter, but I didn't figure that would stop me. Any suggestions?

forward the port correctly.

are you perchance entering 192.168.x.x?

you need to go to www.whatismyip.com to find out what IP to put in.

yea.. vnc = leet.. if it's at school, they may have that port blocked completely

Prometheus 09-29-2004 03:15 PM

use RD they dont block it since they disable it.. search on your computer for files starting with mtsc and copy them to a cd or usb drive and use it at school

Jason425 09-29-2004 03:23 PM

what else is on those files? Sounds like a security risk to me...

Prometheus 09-29-2004 03:27 PM

just the remote desktop client

they remove it sometimes

look on your own comp if you have Pro

Jason425 09-29-2004 04:16 PM

oh.. makes sense that it wasn't there on this 2k comp lol.. yea i'll check at home..
